I've never been myself but will likely attend the parade. I hear it's quite the show.

Fellas, be ready for big crowds, do not and I repeat do not wear flip flops, no matter how cute you look in them or how they match your new shorts you just bought for this weekend. There will be lines for every club and eatery in Boys Town, so be ready to ready to wait in line for everything after. Do not drive to the parade, use public transit, have plenty of cash and have fun!!

I wish that I could join you guys in Chicago for your pride festivities. Chicago is one of the best major cities in the US. I have heard a lot of great things about Chicago's pride celebration. I just don't have the money for travel and hotel expenses.

Take SPF 50 and lots of booze. I swear to Christ it's the only way to make that 4 hr long parade bearable. You'll never be so glad to see a garbage truck in your life! (if you've been, you know what I mean)
You will get to see lots of neat sites though. Lesbians, who've thrown up on each other. The dildo toss in the crowds, (like a beachball, only more painful when it hits you in the face) Like I said lots of booze! icon_smile.gif

I have been for the last two years it's been incredibly crowded, I was on the corner of Halsted and Belmont on the west side. Don't do that. I have a chance to go because people from my design school are in the parade, but not goin' this year cuz of other plans. Take water and sunscreen, maybe an umbrella it is gonna rain over the weekend, and go early it gets crowded fast.
Last year a lot of ppl around me passed out from heat strokes, a few fights broke out, and the year before the rain cancelled the parade.
Good luck and have a great time.

I'll be there... it's always a blast. Definitely take the train in. Sunscreen if you burn, though it's supposed to rain, so maybe an umbrella? My favorite is the "Dykes on Bikes"... they rule...

It is going to be a zoo. I live on the parade route the Broadway portion of the parade. Definitely take the train in and park anywhere else in the city. Be prepared to get intensely drunk or you won't enjoy it as much. The bars are always over crowded after the parade. if you know anyone in Chicago, see if they will invite you to one of the after parties. You're going to have a blast.

Well that was fun. I actually went to my first ever Pride parade with a date and aside from the crazy crowds found the event most enjoyable. I was watching from Addison and Halsted. Hope everyone who went had fun.
