My health is my main reason for working out, but if I look better because of it, then that is an added benefit. I have been a type 1 diabetic most of my life and a couple years ago found out I had cardiomyopathy, so there is good reason to stay healthy. I spend a lot of time on exercise and herbal supplements to try a stay ahead of the two disorders. I lived hard for years and it took its toll on my life and body. I won't lie- it was all fun, but I've found hapiness living a clean life.

Whenever we see the Travelers insurance ad on television, I tell my boyfriend he is my red umbrella. I am the irresponsible one and he keeps me on track. He's the one that says 'go to the doctor, 'go get you oil changed, 'go see your mom, 'have you paid your bills this month, 'did you test your blood sugar?' and 'did you take your insulin?' Seven years ago, he rescued me from a life of partying everynight, all night. Most of my friends were just disco friends- the kind of friends you only see at the clubs and bars. With my medical history, he probably saved my life. He would do anything to protect me. I thank him everyday.
