I'm a laid back, friendly, masculine guy with a lot of interests. I work as an Environmental Scientist, which often involves jumping out of helicopters in the mountains, shouting at bears, sticking my hands in rivers when it's -40 out. Sometimes I wonder if I really needed 4 years of school considering how much of my job involves shovelling snow.

I like to do anything outdoors, although sometimes when I'm in the city I just want to do city stuff as I get plenty of fresh air at work. I hike, bike, sing, play piano, watch hockey, play hockey, play video games, write music, watch cartoons and drink a lot of smoothies (my recipe has been perfected over the last 10 years).

I'm originally from the UK (Wales to be specific) but I've been in Canada for 8 years now and I'm on the verge of citizenship. My accent often confuses people, as does the fact that I don't drink tea, and I occasionally say "eh". I've travelled all over the world, including two years of high school in Norway (any UWCers out there?), teaching English in Costa Rica and visiting the grave of Jesus in Aomori, Japan (no, seriously). Travel broadens the mind - if you don't have a passport, get one!

Someone once called me "beefy for a vegetarian". I think it was a compliment?
