Turning 30 in 2008 has brought a lot of changes to my life. So far, only two major events have taken place (I took a trip to Europe [Paris, Venice, Berlin & Amsterdam] and my ex and I separated after 5 years), but I expect more changes to come. And now that I'm 31 I've realized there are things about my life that need to change. I can't continue to live the age that I look. It's time to become the adult that I am (while still having fun and being the kid I am inside).

My favorite number is 13 (it is my family's as well), and while most people consider that to be an unlucky number, the truth is that 13 symbolizes change; both good and bad. I believe there is always a reason for something happening, and even if it seems difficult now, you will be stronger afterwards. We learn from our life choices and adventures, and from each of those experiences we grow as individuals.

Unlike some people, I was not afraid to turn 30. Actually, I was looking forward to it! 20's are fun, but I was ready for the next decade. Maybe some of that has to do with the fact that I don't look my age.

I am a kid at heart, and hope that I always will be. I miss the days of great weekend morning cartoons, and still watch some thanks to the power of Netflix. I read Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels, watch movies of all kinds (except westerns), and play games (I'm currently addicted to my friends XBox 360 and the games Lost Oddyssey and Rock Band 2).

My 30's have brought a different outlook on my life. I used to be shy and reserved; passive-aggressive and cold-shouldered (fitting the Seattle stereo-type). I realized that got me nowhere in life. I wasn't making new friends; I wasn't experiencing life to its full potential. Now I have so many new, close friends, and am truly enjoying life.

I'm not really that big a fan of "hooking up", but I do like to flirt, and once in a while, if I'm at the right comfort level, I may be interested in hanging out. My 20's were the years of my promiscuity. My 30's are the years for making the right choices for me. I'm not desperate for attention, and shouldn't let myself act that way.

I tend to be drawn to people who have a positive outlook and are funny, and who don't care that I like Disney movies or video games. Guys that I typically find attractive are those who take care of themselves (either by working out or by eating right). My dream boy would be shorter than me and muscular (the short, stocky type), but I also like older muscular guys (not too old...but there is something about their experience and the fact that they still take care of themselves). I like someone who is mature, yet knows how to have fun and can enjoy their inner-child.
