Montreal OutGames: Opening ceremonies

Athletes from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka join together in celebration before entering the stadium for the opening ceremonies. Although each delegation was small from these countries, their enthusiasm was enough to light up the stadium.
"We live in a very repressed society," explained Sunil Pantia of Nepal. "LGBT people are not that visible in Nepal. So for me, it's so wonderful to see so many open, proud, gay and lesbian people."
