One of the funniest antics of the Thai boys were their campy poses when serving. We had the pleasure of speaking with team captain Nan, center, about his experience playing at the OutGames.
You are having a lot of fun while playing. Where does this spirit come from?
We came here wanting to enjoy the game and have the others enjoy with us too. It keeps our spirit light.
You have five Thai men on your team, and one white man who seems to be having the time of his life, while still looking a bit bewildered by it all. How did he end up playing with you?
It was very hard for us to get here, especially getting the visa. One of our teammates could not get a visa, so we had to find someone to play with us at the last minute. Luise is playing in that spot.
You are having a lot of fun, but you also play a beautiful game. How did your team prepare for the OutGames?
It was difficult because we all live in different parts of Thailand, not just Bangkok. So, we practiced by ourselves, then came together to play here. Most of us played together in Sydney.
How has your experience been here in Montreal at the OutGames?
We have been very proud to be here. We are making lots of friends. People are being very nice to our team, so we are having a wonderful time.
