Fabricio, foreground, readies himself at the net for the next play. We took a few moments at the sideline with this hunky Brazilian volleyball player to ask him about his experience at the OutGames, playing the Thai team and the secret to his immensely powerful attack. Much thanks to our Brazilian friend from opening ceremonies, Arthur, who was able to translate from Portuguese to English so we could bring this interview to you!
How has your experience been at the OutGames?
I'm feeling very good here. It's not just the sport, but the whole atmosphere is wonderful. This has been much more than I was expecting.
How have you developed such a powerful hit?
I played professionally in Brazil and also in Argentina. Now, I just play in Brazil at university.
Are you out in Brazil?
Yes, not loud, but I am out.
Was it difficult to concentrate with the Thai team's antics?
[Laughs] No, I kept my eyes on the ball.
How did you enjoy playing the Thai team?
Everyone likes the Thai team very much. They are fun and making jokes all the time. I consider them to be friends.
Reporter's note: This is great news considering two of the Thai boys ran over to Fabricio and tried to pull down his shorts following a particularly commanding spike. Fabricio managed to keep his shorts on, then took them both in his big arms laughing and gave them a gigantic hug.
