Inside the International Gay Rodeo

Can you tell us the events we can expect to see in a gay rodeo?
We have 13 events in our rodeo. We do the traditional events—bull riding and bronc riding., speed events like pole bending, barrel racing and flag races, and we have three calf-roping events.
But there are three events you'll only find in a gay rodeo: steer decorating, where one person holds the end of a 25 foot rope that's looped around the steer's horns. His teammate stands 40 feet from the chute and has a ribbon. When the steer comes out of the chute, one member tries to tie the ribbon on the steer's tail while the other team member tries to remove the rope from the steer's horns.
There's also the wild drag race, where we have a man and a woman in drag, and they take a steer out with a 25-foot rope. The "cowgirl" has to ride the steer out to the finish line.
Finally there's goat dressing, where two people put underwear on a goat and then run with it across the finish line.
Participants are at different levels of experience. We like to make room for both beginners and seasoned folks.

It started with C/W dancing. Then I went to a straight rodeo here in Lakeside,Ca., loved it. The following week I went to the gay rodeo with my straight freinds, we all had the greatest time. You could say I was a closeted cowboy. Straight or Gay I love'em. I've never had more fun, met so many really nice people and travelled so much, just to be at rodeo- gone all the way to Australia. These people work hard, play hard and love hard. And they're hot as hell! I aint kissed so many men in all my life, and given a bit more on occassion...uhum.
