If you're an out gay man living in the U.S., you've probably heard of the AIDS/LifeCycle seven-day, 545-mile charity bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. This hugely popular ride raises many millions of dollars in the battle to fight AIDS. It's also notoriously fun, with many participants returning year after year to bike with their friends by day and camp along the California coast by night.
Most of the 2000-plus riders are content to put in their hundreds or thousands of hard training miles, raise at least the minimum $2,500 (no small feat in itself), and have an amazing seven-day adventure.
But then there are those few, like boyfriends and AIDS/LifeCycle fundraising stars Stephen Massey (above left) and James Loduca (above right), who take their dedication to the AIDS/LifeCycle to another level.
