Hi there! The name's Paul. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Will try to keep it brief for you.

I'm an Italian/Australian mongrel, originally from the west of Sydney, New South Wales. Moved to Queensland as a wee lad and grew up in the west of Brisbane (much nicer than Sydney's equivalent). Still living out here - the grass is pretty green all year round, after all - just wish we had a train line nearby.

Was a competitive gymnast in primary school, but lost my passion for it too early on to progress much beyond standing backsaults. Played a lot of soccer during high school (out of necessity - cliques are horrible things) and as much tennis as I could (love the sport). Got into trampolining a few years back, but quickly realised I was too old and uncoordinated to participate in it seriously... so I coached it for a while instead. Fun times, but not the most lucrative career path unfortunately.

Graduated from the University of Queensland last year with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Human Movement Science (aka Kinesiology). Couldn't get enough of it, so after a measly 6-month break, I jumped back into uni... this time enrolled as a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology student. 'Twas too much too soon, methinks. Took some time off from my post-grad studies to visit North America with my partner at the time; had a pretty amazing trip, and met some equally amazing people (you know who you are, fellas!). Currently extending the uni break to work and travel this year... and to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

I've got a broad range of interests, including science, technology, history, literature, politics, religion, music, theatre, film, television, sport, health, fitness... the list goes on. When I'm away from home, you're more likely to see me out and about, as opposed to languishing indoors. I'm a big fan of the ocean, and I live to hike, but if there aren't any beaches or mountains nearby, I'm perfectly happy to stroll through town and mingle with the masses... although I do love my downtime, as is typical of any extroverted introvert.

The above being said, I'm essentially on here to stay in contact with old friends from days gone by... but the fitness articles are an added bonus, as are the new friendships I've made since rejoining. :-)
