Already in a great relationship. Just enjoy meeting up with other cool guys to work out with or for inspiration or friendship.
Love the Atlantis Freedom cruises and can't wait to go again. It would be great to meet more Atlantis peeps. Last cruise was February 2011.
We have a couple family videos on YouTube as wander2340. I'm on Facebook more than Real Jock.
A friend once said that my hubby and I were "beyond the dating phase" of our relationship because we have been together for over 10 years. I disagree. Once a couple moves beyond the "dating phase" they are heading towards a split. It would basically mean they don't care anymore. I hope to still be in the "dating phase" of our relationship in 50 years.
Did a year of high school in Le Mans, France. Oui, je parle francais.
2 years with Army reserves (tanks). 6 years with Air Force reserves (ammo). Sent to Italy for Bosnian conflict and Turkey for Iraq no fly zone.
Been a Realtor since 1997. Started in new home sales. Owned my own brokerage. Now associate broker for Realty Executives. Recently started selling foreclosure properties for a bank. I used to think it was a bad karma thing but now accept it as the new normal.
Been with my partner since 1998. We have 2 kids. They are a boy/girl set of 6 year old twins. We adopted them when they were 2 months old. Their biological mother chose us to be the new parents because she said we looked like the happiest family at the agency.
The film Babette's Feast is a big part of how Rob and I ended up together. Short version of the story is that one of the things we had in common was that we each thought the film was amazing.
We hosted a foreign exchange student from August 2010 to June 2011. She is from Paris and was 16 year old during her stay with us. She also happens to be black so we are now probably one of the most racially diverse families on the planet. Our 6 year old daughter was so happy to have a big sister and no longer be the only girl in the house. It was really sad when it was time for her to go back to France.
We haven't watched tv in over 6 years. Seriously, it doesn't exist in our home. No, we don't feel like we're missing anything. In fact, our life is richer because of that decision. Our kids have no idea what a commercial is. A few weeks ago they were at my sister's house watching a movie and freaked out when the commercials came on. They started screaming at my sister to turn the movie back on because they have never had a movie interrupted by a commercial before and they thought she had changed the channel.
Love to listen to audio books in the car. My non fiction is usually motivational or inspirational (Brian Buffini, Deepak Chopra, Tony Robbins, etc). For fiction I like historical fiction (Tales of the Otori, Pillars of the Earth, Outlander, etc.) or something along the lines of a Tom Clancy novel. I rarely listen to the radio and if I do it's usually NPR. When the kids are with me I'm usually stuck listening to the kid movie they are watching behind me :)
Passionate about travel. Been all over North America and Europe. Favorite destination is Hawaii. The best part of travel for me is the human connections so I rarely visit a destination purely as a tourist.
Family summer vacations are usually in the big RV. June 2009 was central and northern California (redwoods, Yosemite, San Francisco.). Summer 2008 was camping in White Mountains of Arizona and Las Vegas. Summer 2007 was a road trip across the USA (from Phoenix to Quebec with stops in Oklahoma, St Louis, Chicago, Michigan City, Niagra Falls, Quebec City, New York City, Philadelphia area, Washington DC, Shenandoah Skyline Drive, Dollywood and Dallas).
Recently joined a local gay bowling league. Before that was the Arizona Gay Volleyball League. It's a blast! Other things I do in my spare time would be President of Biltmore Toastmasters (we meet every Wednesday from noon to 1pm) and volunteer at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Workout from home using a lot of what I learned from P90X and the advice shared on this site. Like to keep myself in good shape both mentally and physically.
The TED video below helps to explain my attitude regarding what is healthy.
I'm extremely fun loving and always willing to try just about anything. People often don't know what to make of me because I am kind, generous and affectionate to pretty much everyone I meet. Sometimes that gets me in trouble but more often it helps me to have deeper and happier relationships.
While I wouldn't classify myself as a nudist I do enjoy it occasionally. Especially swimming!
