Hi, thanks for reading my profile and for the MOTD votes. I wanted to start by saying I cannot see who votes for me, so I apologize for not thanking each one of you personally! I'm flattered.
If you feel like writing to me and you don't know what to write about, a "Yo mama so fat" joke is a nice way to break the ice. I can't get enough of those. Yo mama so fat, her patronus is a cake. Brilliant!
As the years passed I noticed that some aspects of my personality changed (for example, I used to be very introverted), but there are a couple of things that seem to define me, and they probably always will. Integrity is VERY important to me (people often call me "naive" because of that). I have strong values and I try to be the best I can. I'm friendly and I always put others first. It's like I have this urge to please people, even sacrificing precious time and energy. I'm trying to change this when dealing with people I really don't like ;) That being said, there's no excuse for a person who has been educated (school, college, university) and has access to internet (all the knowledge in the world) to remain ignorant about basic things regarding the world we live on. I'm really talking about basic stuff, like the Earth is not flat, the sun doesn't revolve around the Earth, a theory is not just someone's wild idea, etc. I have a really low tolerance for people who choose to be ignorant every day.
I'm a biologist, just finished my PhD in Conservation Genetics. Looking for postdoc positions abroad! I hope I can go to South Africa, it would be my dream!
I like nature, reading, hiking, cooking (particularly desserts), EATING, getting to know people. I'm as confortable going out as I am cuddling in the couch watching a movie.
Not a tree hugger but I have a deep respect for nature. Even in the middle of a city, nature gives you a gift every single day if you keep your senses alert. I admit I don't understand people that feel closer to nature by shooting at something.
Animals seem to like me, which is cool because I like them.
Regarding the kind of man I'd like to meet...
Paraphrasing Napoleon: "A handsome man pleases the eye, a good man pleases the heart. The former is a gem, the latter is a treasure".
The fact that I'm not very good looking has given me the ability to see beauty in everyone, so if you feel like writing then do it. I've received a couple of messages that have definitely boosted my self confidence (thank you). I know everyone has their preferences but I try not to make the box so small that no one fits in. When it comes to the physical part I frankly don't see the point in writing a list of all the atributes I like in a man. I feel a little disappointed (with myself) when I like someone's profile and then it turns out I'm not tall enough, or muscular enough, or hairy enough.
I don't think I'll end up with soooo many messages that I need to filter the potential writers, you know what I mean? Besides, friends are always welcome.
I will, nonetheless, write about personalities: I'd like to meet decent, honest men for friendship. Mature, career oriented, fiendly guys who can put others first get my attention.
I've noticed a lot of men are looking for dates "without baggage". I guess you're into babies then, since we all have at least a little "baggage". Besides... I keep thinking about all the married guys out there, some of them with kids, they probably feel like no one from their circle will accept them if they ever were to come out. If they also get the idea no one will welcome them on this side as well, they could feel a little frustrated.
P.S.: If I were to ask you "is fire hot in your country?", not to mess with you, just out of ignorance, you'd think I'm an idiot and move on. If I asked you "when it rains in your country, does water fall from the sky?", I would get the same reaction, and you would be right. So please, people from one particular country, learn what seasons are (winter, summer, etc.) and that they are opposite between hemispheres (when the northern hemisphere is going through winter, the southern hemisphere is going through summer).
Extra points for reading this far!!! And if you come to Argentina and need something, tell me and I'll help you if I can.
