Description
Well, I've been working out since I was 40lbs overweight @ age 19. I took it as a class at South Dakota State & fell in love with it. For years, I just lifted to stay lean, but in 2009, after going through a little bit of drama in my life, I decided to gain size & muscle and I am enjoying the results ... A LOT!!!
My very first boyfriend HATED that I wanted to get bigger and more muscular, so being the naive kid I was, I stopped working out & kept my tone. That pissed him off even more. After him, for years, I stayed lean and I started to languish in my workouts.
I guess I should thank one of my boyfriends for unintentionally motivating me to work harder & push myself in every workout I do. I don't own a car, so I bike (bicycle) EVERYWHERE. I love how much I've changed & I'm continually getting bigger and stronger.
And do I eat!!! Holy Shit!! I eat every 2 hours like a can of tuna or drink a protein shake. I'm always hungry. No wonder why I hardly ever go out on the town. I'm starving.
The biggest compliment I received recently was when I was working at my part time job. I was ringing up a customer and I looked at his ID. I told him we share the exact same birth date. He said I'm aging MUCH better than he was. So, I'm flattered.
So, I guess I am doing something right. :)
I've been boxing for almost four years now and I really like it a lot. My hands are cut up. My knuckles are red and calloused. I also started to spar w/ other guys. I actually cracked a kid's rib & a few weeks ago, I broke someone's nose. Yes, I take the sport serious. In a few weeks, I'll be heading to other boxing gyms to spar w/ other guys and have my first boxing match,. I really excited! I have to say boxers are a different breed. They are pretty violent and they will tell you to your face where you stand w/ them. They also look out for each other. I'm glad to be associated with these guys.
I started running a few years ago - sprints & long distance. Oh man ... do I love it or what? I just put my headset on to Tiesto or some house music and I can run for miles. And recently, I started going to spin classes and also yoga. I thought these classes were going to be a breeze. Fuck no. They are HARD!!! I love it. It's so much fun!!
Also ... as a fluke ... I started doing some modeling. Ah Hell ... I just tried out for a couple things and so far I've gotten them! It's fun & I know it will not last forever, but I'm enjoying it.
I hope there are like minded guys like myself out there like like to work out like I do as well as other fitness hobbies like boxing or bicycling or marathons. I really am having problems meeting like minded people like that at the moment (as well as guys who don't mind I'm a bit more of a catcher. I love pitching and catching, but enjoy catching slightly more), but there's always room to change that.
Life is crazy. I get jumped by three kids on my bike a block from home. I instantly pop up & get into my fight mode. I'm ready to take them and one of the boys pulls a gun on me. I make a HUGE scene & I didn't care if I got shot or not. People came & the boys ran off. I had to get eleven stitches: five on my forehead and six in my ear.
The next week, exactly a week a part, I got hit by a truck when I was bicycling to work. I had the right of way, but the driver blew through and I t-boned into the truck. I did get a hairline fracture close to my left elbow.
I have to say, I've went through a lot and still am. But damn! I feel freaking lucky that I'm still here. Life really is short. Once it's gone - it's gone. What I've learn is to cherish life, let go of your bitterness and hatred and live the life you want. But that's just me. What do I know? ;)
