MunchingZombie the quote you gave of Romney condemning Europeans for their "godlessness" is why United Statesians (as my brother-in-law calls you) are disliked by so many people around the world. Talking about ignorant and arrogant
I know though that his views are not supported by the majority of Americans, it is just Romney's neo-con views are the ones everybody seems to remember.
As for the comments by John43620 that if the USA fails in Iraq their enemies will be all over them, all I can say is WTF is that all about? First of all nobody will really know of the full impact of the USA's invasion for many years to come (I will be long dead I am sure). Secondly the invasion of Iraq has probably increased the threat to the USA from terrorists significantly. After 9/11 the USA for the first time in decades had the sympathy of nearly the whole world, then in a matter of 2 years the Bush administration managed to throw it all away by an unnecessary invasion. Truly one of the biggest foreign policy blunders by any Western government since the Napoleonic Wars.
If George W. Bush does not go down as one of the 5 worse presidents of all time I would be very surprised.
As for John McCain being the Republican nomination I think he is probably the best choice, I just wish he was 63 not 73. Matter of fact I wish he had been the nomination in 2000. He probably would not have let the CIA mislead him about the dangers Iraq posed, and if he had invaded he would have done it properly not half-ass like Rumsfeld. I just hope he does not pick a social conservative as a VP to appease the christian right.
