    Thanks.

That is mine, but not me of course.

This one is very suggestive, features male nudity.

Those are truly great pieces of computer generated art.

But why do they seem to be so plastic and stiff? Is it the selection of skins the program has?

You have to upload the image file to a webserver, like photobucket.com and then, on the forums, you display the image with standard HTML:

    <img src="http://www.webserver.com/username/image.jpg">

Simply replace http://www.webserver.com/username/image.jpg with the URL of the image file you want to display.

Bleh. No scanner for my trad art.

Click the thumbnails to view original resolution

Anyway, two of my 2d digital art (note I am still not very good at it, and I did both of these with a mouse, I don't have a tablet):

Despair - A speedpainting I did. Supposed to portray the emotion. Meh, I dunno If I got it. LOL. Strangely, I also wrote a short story about a bad coming out at about the same time I did this:

Suppression - an entry I did for a concept art contest. I lost icon_cry.gif But I learned a lot about Digital 2d making this. Portrays a post-apocalytpic civilization with a tribal culture. It's a public execution:

And here are just SOME of my 3d work:

(Note the renders aren't mine, they were done by our art director, but the focus of the following renders are my works)

The fighter-bomber in the foreground is my work (concept, mesh, texture):

Again, the ship is a carrier, the mesh and texture is mine, but the original concept is by another artist friend of mine.

The massive station is my work - texture, mesh, concept. Inspired by Islamic architecture. The ships in the foreground are from teammates.

those are pretty damn cool. I mainly write poetry. I haven't done a sketch or a watercolor since my junior year. Most of my good poems are very depressing though. Which is surprising because i am a generally happy individual.

My favourite gay artist just got to be Walter Spies. The German painter who before WW11 went to live in the island of Bali. Among the colour and intoxicated beauty of the Island of Gods. His life is so romantic and sound like a dream adventure to me. Living among tropical paradise , surrounded by bronze Bali Boys, gamelan music, ancient Hindu culture and dead gorgoues scenery.
To bad it all ended when he got arrested during the war for being a homosexual. And the ship taken him a prisoner to Ceylon(Sri Lanka now) was torpedo by the Japanese and sank.

Here's a couple I did. One of my favorites is a large charcoal that's on my wall, hard to get a good photo of it. The papercuts too.

I like Steve Walker, the gay canadian artist. I have several of his prints framed and in my house.

I have "On a Clear Day" that was given to me by a friend from Toronto then a couple with animals.
He did a really nice beagle print.

www.stevewalker.com I think that might be his site.

Rhythm, I love the third painting.

I really love robaroma's. Of all the painting styles I like, it's realistic surrealism that gets to me every time. Magritte especially.

My painting Despair is subliminally influenced by Salvador Dali. heh. I didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out.

Anyway, I found an old picture of a sketch of mine... on a class notebook LOL. I might refine this someday. It's a tribal warrior. I sketched it during a boring two hour lecture in school last year (November 2007 I think, click thumbnail to enlarge):

I'm good at lineart and pencil sketches in traditional media, but I have yet to make a watercolor/oil/acrylic painting. So I take my hat off to the guys here working in traditional media. Personally I prefer digital 2d. It's just as difficult, but you get to have the option of undoing mistakes, which is what I love most about digital.

So much of the gay art (meaning using gays as the subject of the art), not necessarily in this thread, seems to be overtly sexual or sad. There must be other emotions that we feel that artists can represent.

Steve Walker is one of my favorites who uses gay people as subjects in his art.

I have not seen this one before...
