ShawnTO saidI just assumed, quite wrongly, that I would have nothing to contribute, or no one would be interested in hearing what I have to say.

Funny, I naturally assumed that every last one of my posts would be logged and filed away for use by my future biographers.

LMFAO! THAT'S THE WAY TO DO IT!

Usually I don't post to forums, but recently, actually ever since I've joined RJ, I've been comfortable posting in forums! You're all so great to talk to!

I'd never post advice in the fitness sections, and more so in the relationships sections. I post to funny forums or to people who need help: I'm a great helper, just see my profile: I'm SUPERMAN! although I wish there was an option as UNDERDOG (from the movie), then I get to be a beagle!

Come on have no fear, Underdog is here! Lol! icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gificon_razz.gificon_wink.gif

Personally, I've never let my complete ignorance on a topic prevent me from commenting on it.

The main reason I read forums is to get to know the people behind the photos. Once I've enjoyed somebody's humour, point of view or wisdom, I'm more likely to send him a buddy request.

There is also really useful fitness information - and even when people disagree there's a lot to learn.

I post because I like reading what other people think about some issue I think about, and then I'm interested in what others post as topics, and tweeks my interest. Sometimes I try to influence other writers, but I narrow that down to those who for some "UNGODLY" reason support BUSH and his SHEEPLES !!!

I'm just going to throw out my normal, catch-all answer about issues such as this on forums.

The "many profiles, few posters" phenomenon is a common one of any site like this. There's a lot more inter-profile traffic that goes on between members in the way of emails and IMs than there is forum traffic, because most people on any given site simply don't have a desire to contribute. Every site has its regulars, and its occasional visitors.

Considering that the forums are only one part of the whole site, and that I imagine many people come here for the exercises and to find new folk in their area (which is done much more efficiently by searching and then contacting people directly), it's only natural that you'll get a very small proportion of the overall site population posting to forums. Such is the way with internet forums.

My favorite sport is voyeurism. (See profile for proof http://www.realjock.com/profile/?id=65598).

I tend only to post when I feel I have something to contribute. I'm one of the faceless, so I am not trying to plaster my cute l'il mug all over the forums. icon_razz.gif

Personally, I'm attracted to a handsome and "real" jock, but he has to have brains too. I like a guy who has an opinion and knows how to voice it, so reading the forums gives you a different perspective as to what may lurk behind a pair of dreamy eyes or sexy pecs that you can never see in a photograph. The written word often-times tells an entirely different story, or reveals so much more, than a picture. That's one of the things that, in my opinion, sets this site apart from so many other gay sites, and puts it on a level above many (if not most) of the rest.

I've been a member on this site for a week but I think I have more posts than a lot of folks on here for years.

    Where are all the Irish?

There are about 500 Irish profiles on here. Yet just a handful, post to the forums.

It would be nice to talk about Ireland related stuff from time to time. Those US guys are taking over the whole show icon_confused.gif

Same here, out of the 75-ish Maltese profiles on here, I think I'm the only Maltese guy posting to forums (although I can't be sure). It's sad really, only finding US people to talk to. I even set up a forum for Maltese people to post in, and a US guy responded instead!

I thought about doing the same, but don't think it would work.

    Maybe how to practice voyeurism?!

But seriously, voyeurism is really disrespectful! Not to mention against the law! (I think it is...)

It's the 80/20 rule, just like in real life. 20% of the people do stuff, 80% react to those who do. You know, like when you go to a sex club, and there's a dozen guys going at it, and they are surrounded by 75 guys just watching?

Not that I've ever experienced anything like that.

    Very often.

    Wearing a funny hat.

    So.... yeah.
