On my good days this doesn't happen, but on my bad days...I'll be sitting on a bench doing some dumbell presses or some barbell curls and after each set I start yawning?

Before everyone jumps up and tells me to get more sleep, I actually get sufficient sleep...not too little and not too much. I usually average 8hrs - 8.5hrs on a weekday and maybe 9hrs on a weekend if I've lost our any during the week because of a later night. Would it be something I'm eating? Or just a psychological thing? Any thoughts?

Yawning is not only a sign of sleepiness... it can be

It is a reflex reactioon to a lack of oxygen intake

When you're sleepy, your breath slows down, if you're working out, you will need more oxygen

The Yawn is just a reflex reaction ensuring you get enough oxygen icon_smile.gif

    Yeah... Amar is right.

Yawning is the body's way of telling you that it needs more oxygen. Every cell in your body depends on oxygen for its basic functions. So particularly if you're doing something that is putting an increased demand on your muscle tissues, you will need to breathe deeper and longer to infuse the blood with oxygen so it can get it to the areas that need it.

Do you hold your breath when you lift?
