But to stay on topic, I'd say that Shakira has a more technical dance and she's amazingly good at what she does (belly dancing and everything), but I think Be's choreography are more entertaining and powerful.
Who doesn't know the Single Ladies dance, heh ?

Not bad, not bad, but she's not even at her best in this one. I think one of her best performance was at MTV 2000. She was definitely off-the-hook here...
And she even gets better with age ;)
And she also had a dance tribute by Usher, Pink (who knew Pink was that much into dancing ? ;) ) and Mya !

Well, you have to put this on perspective. Beyonce is an amazing singer to and, with all due respect to her, Shakira couldn't relate ONLY on her singing skills. Her hips moves undoubtedly made her famous more than her voice and that's why she's always using her dancing everywhere she goes. She's good at it.
Beyonce DOESN'T have to dance. She could only sing and she would still be famous. But still, she does, for our own little entertainment and pleasure
And I don't call THAT shaking ass =>
I had to learn the choreography for a parody show and daaaaayum it was hard. -

And let me add this; as much as shaking the hips and belly dancing is part of Shakira's latin dancing culture, I think the bootyshaking is part of Beyonce's afro-american dancing culture. And it IS dancing
