People are often surprised when I say I much prefer slim, defined or even skinny young men to muscular ones. I do like a guy to be somewhat athletic though....someone who enjoys activity.

wow man, thanks. that means a lot. He wanted me to take roids..... i told him that it wasn't something that I wanted....and he left me due to my smaller build than what he is attracted to. Comments like this make me feel better.

But, I remember asking a similar question(moreso on if thin guys are attractive to people in general) and a lot of people said we stand a 0% chance against muscular people =(

Yea, but consider the sources...there are a lot of guys who place guys of their own stature, or guys of the stature they desire up on a pedestal. Of course you're going to get people who are biased in favor of muscular or ripped guys. That's just the territory we're in.

I don't mean to insult you by poking holes in your logic but... the OP is also biased in favor of muscular or ripped guys. Not really fair to guys who are muscular or ripped and also prefer muscular or ripped guys. icon_neutral.gif

What are you talking about dude? I'm missing exactly what you're poking holes in. I never said that the OP wasn't just as shallow as anyone else. He may or may not be, I don't know, because his wasn't the statement I was addressing. It's one thing to like what you like, and it's a completely different thing to tell someone they don't have a snowball's chance in Hell of anyone finding them attractive if they don't look a certain way. When a person is talking in black and white like that you can't internalize it...that's all I'm saying. Yeah, here muscular or built guys may be the preferred flavor, but I know not everyone here's a shallow prick in that regard. And elsewhere it may be another type who's the ultimate prize, and someone else will be left feeling inadequate. That just goes along with the territory of being gay and on the prowl for romance.

That's good to know. I dunno if people are just jealous if they see a really muscular guy with a skinny guy, I don't care which two people fall in love. I know people mention not appreciating hard work which can be true so I agree with that sentiment, but muscles don't consume everyone's lives. There can be a guy who's fit, but only spends a small fraction on it, and cares more about character. If I meet a muscular guy, and he only cares about that, that's a huge turn off. But, if he's muscular, but that isn't the defining part about him, that's fine. I'm skinny, but I don't make that a defining point, it's just a body type, I don't focus my entire life caring about appearances and body, it's just pointless for me

barriehomeboy saidAny gay guy would be attracted to you. Stop asking for support, and go after that muscle guy you're obviously drooling over!

speak for yourself! hahah... :-) No honestly though, I think for the most part guys that are muscular are attracted to masculinity in general, usually that means a muscular body. Although, I think it depends on the individual and chemistry. This is just what I've experienced and have seen over the years. Tons of muscular guys have 30-32 inch waist so that doesn't equate to skinny or thin. You can have a thin waist and still have muscles.

I think if you're hung up on this issue, you should try to maybe put on some muscle and make your chances a little better. Otherwise be happy with who you are and you'll find the right guy.

The thing that worries me a bit is that people might not be smart enough to know that a skinny guy can be masculine too. I want to stay skinny/slim the rest of my life, so I guess like you said, I hopefully find SOMEONE who likes it icon_smile.gif

I can for certainty that there are muscular guys that are attractive to slimmer builds, but it *does* seem that guys of a muscular feather tend to flock together.

Doesn't stop me from admiring men and complimenting them though! icon_smile.gif

Dont' know if I'm "muscular", but my boyfriend is definitely skinny and I think he is absolutely gorgeous. I like being bigger then him because it makes cuddling awesome. Does help too that he has the best ass I've ever seen too ;)

I fell in love with with a thinner muscular guy about 40 lbs less than me.. unfortunately he's young, and instead of seeing what he isn't going to have later.. he is desperately talking to assholes to 'see what's out there'.

More recently I have been hanging out with a skinny toned guy taller than me. He's real cool, no complaints.

It depends, looks aren't everything. And neither is muscle.

    tell me about it.
    No luck for me either.
I'm kind of naturally built skinny, but then again I'm not religiously working out to bulk up, just regular exercise to stay healthy really.

I think at the end of the day, if you're happy with your body then be happy and hopefully along the way someone will be happy with it too.

This site is probably not the best place for skinny/slim guys to meet considering this is most populated by muscular guys who are looking for other muscular guys.

Who knows, 2011 is right around the corner and it could your year to find the right guy.

I think this is a stupid question to begin with.

First of all, there's always going to be someone of every "type" that likes someone of every "type". You can't put stereotypes on groups, because there will be always be someone to break them.

Second, even if the stereotype were generally true, it shouldn't matter. You want a guy who you are attracted to for HE is and who will be attracted to you for who YOU are. I find myself attracted to many types of guys - and it has to do with appearance and personality. If you're worried about finding someone to like you because you can ONLY be attracted to "muscle guys", then you have your own problems.

That is true, but to be fair though, it seems everywhere you go, there are muscular gay guys. In gay sites where people have dating profiles, everyone has buff shirtless pics. I see pics of the gay bar/club scene and it shows everyone with their shirts off showing off huge muscles. So in that sense, it's like "Aww, look at all these muscle guy that make up a majority of the gays that are out there, will any of these guys like me?"

I've dated a couple of muscular guys and as you can see, I'm a thin dude.
It does seem to me though that I get more messages from guys that are my same body type.

It would be great motivation to work out more if I woke up to a great guy with a nice build icon_smile.gif

I'm not a very big guy, but I'm confident and have a natural tendency to take charge. I actually enjoy the challenge of being with a bigger dude.

Hell, if they want to mold me into a bigger dude, I'm down with that too. I've always wanted my own live-in personal trainer.
