I have been battling plantar faciatis. Finally got my orthotics and went to a professional running store to get shoes. Bought my first pair of asics, normally wear new balance.

After two days I got a slight indentation over my big toe on my left foot only. It was aggravating my big toe so I took them back and they exchanged them for a different pair of asics that are now doing the exact same thing after two days!!! Has anyone had this problem and what did you do about it? As I walk it presses down deeper against my toe.

I dont understand why its only on the left? I wrote asics about it and asked them what the deal is. I have never had a shoe do this before, what the hell?

Go to your podiatrist with this problem and see if it has something to do with either your gait or your orthotics.

Also, just a guess, but it looks like you are bearing more weight on the outside of your left foot and that that might be caused by weakness in your inner leg muscles. I would also guess that you have a problem with over supination in the left foot. This could be caused by your body's compensation for the plantar fasciitis and not a problem with the shoe.

When you bought your shoes ...
did you bring your orthotics with you and try them on with the orthotics?
If you didn't it's likely that the orthotics took up room and you'll need a bigger size
in the meantime if the shoes have a sockliner in them
    (the inner sole)
this may give you a bit of extra room

All I can say is my foot surgeon/doc of many decades has always sworn by New Balance.

And I wear inserts, so good advice to try on shoes with them in always....
