I think it has to do more with role play. I love to top if he is smaller than me but usually if he is bigger than me I tend to let him throw me around (ALTHOUGH this is not always the case, I know a few muscular guys that are TOTAL bottoms).

Actually that saying has minimum scientific backing. When it comes to partners, people look for similarities.

Skinny is not considered attractive for men. So a guy who works hard to look muscular will go for muscular over skinny.

It does, but I think most guys don't like other skinny guys because most are loud and a headache. But thats just my opinion, icon_biggrin.gif

And of course it happens, when I was in highschool (My skinny days) my boyfriend at the time was big into fitness. People like others for different reasons.

Tcrew89 saidI wouldn't gain weight just to impress someone. It really depends on the person in this matter and what they are looking for. Most buff guys I've come across are just looking for guys who take care of themselves.

You really just need to find someone who likes you for you. I know that sounds cliche but its true. NEVER change yourself for someone else.

    Agree with this

I would never in a million years want to gain weight or build biceps. I only want to stay slim, fit and healthy. I don't lift weights, I only stick to sports and running for exercise. And if people don't like that, it's their loss!

But, I'm glad to see tons of cases where opposite types attract body wise. I am starting to approach gays in real life, and I know that >95% of gays are athletic or muscular, so it's rare to find another skinny masculine guy like me.

beneful1 saidWhy are some of you making it sound like "changing" yourself aka getting fitter and in better shape is a bad thing? Besides I never said change for a specific person but get yourself in great shape and you will expand your dating pool. That's they way it is, simple as that , seriously.

Personally, because I don't care about looking hot. All I care about is someone who likes me for me. I want to improve my chances of finding guys, but want absolutely nothing to do with changing my appearance. Straight guys have it easy, since there are tons of shows and books which help with this stuff, but for gays, they disregard confidence and personality when giving advice...

Like, straight guys can be average, and score a hot chick and people praise him. But people scorn the average gay guy who scores a hot stud. I find nothing wrong with a muscular stud having a LTR with a skinny average person. Since, personalities match, and they find some attraction. I would feel disgusting if I bulked up in order to impress people, since I find no value in muscles or beefy build on me.

i'm with you on the not wanting to be a giant muscle dude thing. gaining weight is not at all a bother to me though, i've been on the fence for awhile and was just curious what kind of guys people generally like and what would be my best territory. so i just plan on being more average sized and in shape as opposed to being a bone rack that other bone racks love.

Thats a bummer. I guess it sucks a lot of guys prefer men to be fat than skinny =(

I'm naturally not that attractive, and don't want plastic surgery or crazy things to conform. Plus, I DONT look for similarities. I look for people who I like physically and personality wise. If I look for similar, I'd be alone, since almost everyone is the opposite of me.

All you said is so true, however I wouldn't go as far as saying your not naturally attractive. We all have qualities that make us hawt. icon_biggrin.gif

I don't think asking on RJ is the wises idea.

I like small skinny guys with definition.. but those big guys bulked up with muscle.. that's gonna be me soon enough (thank christ I can lift weights properly again) and really have no interest in guys my size.. I already got that why would I want it sleeping next to me hahaha!

but I like skinny guys, tall, short, inbetween, I don't care.. lean, hard, nice arse.. But you'll find most guys are RJ are all into the big buff fellas..

    I say most... not all

    Well, that's a good point...

I don't need a muscular guy, but let's put it this way

9 of 10 skinny guys love muscle dudes
9 of 10 buff guys love muscle dudes
9 of 10 chubby guys love muscle dudes

So, you have all those guys who have muscle dudes as partners, so leaves the other types stranded...

i would never in my life get plastic surgery, some people make fun of my ears, if you don't think my ears make me look like Fievel or some shit than you can get the fuck out. hahahaha.

if you think you're just not naturally attractive that's bullshit, it's all in how you carry yourself. look at billy idol. cocky motherfucker. it's not how his face is structured, he just has shitloads of charisma. posture and mentality can do a lot for you. ( i dont recommend turning into a self consumed over confident douche though, as cool as billy idol is)

muscleteen92 saidim muscular and im a sucker for skinny guys!

IMHO 5.9" and 160lb is atlethic. Don't get me wrong you are in great shape.
The OP is talking about something like 5.9" and 180lb as muscular. He's just 10 lb lighter than you.

To the OP I think this topic was brought up many times. The general idea is that those muscular guys tend to go for muscular guys a lot more than slim guys.

I agree with a small correction, don't change yourself for someone in particular, like some guy.

However, in your case the best course of action is to work on becoming bigger.

You aren't doing it for anyone but yourself. It will increase YOUR chances at meeting more muscle guys.

I'm not necessary muscular, but I'm not by stretch of the imagination fat or slim. I'm beefy I suppose, but I've also been referred to as "thick" and "barrel chested". As a general rule, I like tall guys, regardless of build. I tend to have this aversion of muscle men because of how poorly I've been treated by them in the past. I did see this guy in a store today - he had to have been at least 7' tall. I just wanted to touch him.... ugh.... icon_redface.gif

I'm 6'3", and this guy towered above me (which doesn't happen often for me). He wasn't really muscular or even beefy. I guess he is the stereotypical "tall and lanky," but damn!!! he got my motor going! I don't mind smaller/shorter guys though. In the end, it's personality and life goals that seal the deal for me.

In reality, opposites don't attract each other very often...if they do, they rarely stay together. Like attracts like.

This is kind of going off what was discussed more-so on the first page, but I think it's kind of stupid that so many guys have like this ridiculous stigma towards gym-goers who work out simply to look good. It isn't necessarily about HOW MUCH YOU CAN BENCHPRESS for every single person, and it doesn't need to be. Wanting to look and feel attractive doesn't inherently mean you're conceited. I'll be the first to admit that's primarily why I go. And I know for a fact that it's true for a lot of people.

As for the topic itself, I definitely prefer smaller/twinkier guys. I'd date a woman before I could find myself attracted to like, a bear-ish dude or something.
