Alright, I've never actually started one of these before but I have a question...

What is the best thing to do with what is most likely a broken toe, keeping in mind I teach 3 spin classes a week? Should I tape it and take a shot of tequila and get on with it?

suggestions, comments and concerns are all welcome.

    Cheers and Thanks!

See a doctor if you can.

The doctor will probably want to put a soft cast on it.

Humm.. One of my usual comment again...too vage..

A fracture comes in many flavors. The degree, etiology, mechanical patterns, and shape of the fracture in addition to specific joints all factor in the treatment you need to get. There are avulsion fractures, stress fractures, cloes and open fractures, pathological fractuers due to osteoprosis, osteomyelitis, tumors, displaced and non displaced fractures, longitudinal, green stick and spiral fractures, etc, etc, etc...

You really need to see an ortho MD and take care of this. X rays will see large fractures, but will often miss stress fractures and very small avulosion fractures. You will need a bone scan for that. This a weight bearing joint and distal to your heart (far away). A fracture that is not identifiesd and properly taken care of can result in more serious types of fractures and other terrible complications such as infection of the bone (osteomeylits) and even blood posioning. And fractures into he joint will enlarge a joint and cause premature traumatic arthritis. Again, since this is a weight bearing joint, you may even need a hard cast depending on the type of fracture you have (OR MAY NOT).

Go see an ortho MD and take care of it, now...
