It really helps me to keep a calorie log so I know for sure I'm eating enough to gain. Also eat more protein and try Muscle Milk or something similar to supplement. Good luck!

If you're 6 foot tall and 130 pounds, you're nowhere near chunky. You're actually significantly underweight, so unless you're going for irony, you might want to reconsider the screen name. I had very similar stats for a long time.

www.fitday.com is an easy way to track calorie consumption. You'll need to increase yours. That's true of basically anyone trying to gain weight.

Substantial cardio exercise will make it hard to gain weight. The authors of From Scrawny to Brawny recommend very little cardio work for those trying to gain weight, and the cardio you do they say should primarily be interval training--short stretches of as fast as you can move, alternating with slightly longer stretches of moderate speed.

Overall, pure muscle bulk is built primarily by low repetition numbers on high weights, and tone by high reps at low weights. Some people will tell you to do one of them first, then the other; others will tell you to alternate throughout your whole process. There are pros and cons to each approach.

at your height why would you want to trim down? tone up is one thing - but my goodness, I don't think I weight that little since 8th grade - and I'm nowhere near as tall as you!

Chunky Shane, you`re underweight for your height.I`m six foot tall and come in at 185 pounds and consider myself trim, with a thirty four waist! To generally develop a good physique,I`m recommend (depending how fit you are now)three 30 minute cardio sessions a week to start with. Then build up as you get fitter. And eat more calories every day to keep your body fueled up!For muscle gain,it`s weight training and more protein in your diet.Best wishes and good luck!
