thenes saidIt's so silly to read all of the "OMG! Accutane has serious side effects! It's gonna kill you! Tell him to stop taking it!" comments from people who have never taken it.

I had extremely terrible acne during my senior year of high school. It made me extremely depressed. My dermatologist kept trying all kinds of different medications and NOTHING worked, so we gave Accutane a shot... it worked like magic. I've been virtually acne free since and have never suffered from any of those serious side effects. It was a godsend.

Agree. I mean other than me being stupid now I was side effect free. icon_smile.gif

I was on Accutane for six months many years ago. Heavy duty stuff! Dries you up from the inside out. Don't know about anal sex while on it, though, since I'm not a bottom. Using a lot of lube should help.

Lubrication, I did not engage in anal sex while Accutane, because it really dries you from inside out. My dick is almost as if to peel near the end of the treatment. It hurts to touch it, let alone sex. Being on Accutane is painful, but the results were amazing despite side effects while on it.

Yes, lets do make people feel ashamed for wanting to engage in safe sex. Would you rather he not ask and go through life ignorant?

gabeman saidAre you serious? What has Accutane to do with sex, the worse thing that could happen is his side effects got out of hand and he ended up killing himself from bad sex (common side effects includes nausea [they always fucking starts with that] and thoughts of suicide,

Use a rubber if you think its the right thing to do in terms of precaution (even as you said both you and him were tested) but Accutane has absolutely nothing to do with anything you are talking bout.

If you read above, you'll see that gastric and colonic mucosal drying and therefore bleeding (some accutane users get freaked out when they bleed during bowel movements) is a possible side-effect due to the effect of the retinoid on epithelium...so, whether the OP knew it or not, it's actually not a bad question...

Well, wouldn't the simple solution be: use more lube? Therefore preventing a tearing at all?

It boggles the mind that in this day and age people are so callous about unprotected sex. This 18 year old on Accutane allowing the 27 year old OP to have unprotected sex is clearly more concerned with his acne than he is other more important health issues he could face. If he gets HIV, acne will be the very least of his problems.

I'm stunned at all of the posts against bareback sex, no matter what. Even in the pre-PrEP days, I never understood some of the language used by members of the gay community in this regard. Hell, committed straight folks have raw sex all the time. And its essentially "required" if you're looking to conceive. The talk that gays should never have unprotected sex for fear of catching HIV or some other STI is almost insulting as it insinuates that two gay men cannot be faithful to one another and will be sleeping around outside of a relationship. Now, if you advise against raw sex to prevent urinary tract infection, etc., that's another story, but that's hardly the reason why most on here were preaching against raw sex.
