I think it's taken from measure and set theories in mathematics. If I remember it correctly (and with some help from Wikipedia), a null set is a situation when you have a set of nothing that is not something. More broadly, if you take an ideal as understood, a null set will be any element of that ideal, while the union of any two elements of the ideal must also be in the ideal. Hope I'm not mixing apples with oranges lol. As far as the relationship graph goes perhaps it's easier to think of Null Set as Eternal Bliss.
