Hidden/Deleted Members Posting to the Forums

  I really really really dont think Hidden/Deleted Members should be posting to the forums.
  
  If they have taken themselves out of the membership roles then they shouldnt be able to post anonymously.
  
  I wish the Powers That Be would change this feature on RJ.

  Well, obviously a deleted profile can't be used to post because, well, it's been deleted. Not allowing hidden profiles to post on the forums may not be a bad idea, but it probably won't accomplish much because a person can always post something and then delete or hide his profile.

  I agree that if you are hidden you should not be posting. I personally think it does not show a lot of integrity. At least have a user name so we can respond to your opinions, even to give compliments.

  I wonder if hidden/deleted postings could be hidden to prevent this. They can remove the pic, so I would imagine they can blank out the text.

  What about in the case of a well-liked user who, for whatever reason, hides or deletes his profile? Take Zimster, for example. Is there any reason that all his posts should disappear simply because he hid or deleted his profile?

  No, I think what Caslon4000 is referring to is a current active member staying hidden and posting. That is what I am referring to I know that.

  How about taking it a step further - If you're not "verified" you can't post.

  Yes, that is what I am referring to. I see a hidden member starting threads and posting. Making comments anonymously. I dont like that. Either you are in or you are out. Make up your mind.
  
  Profiles can be made so they are hardly revealing of anybody. But at least we know Profile X is posting this. And we can follow and associate Profile X's postings. With Hidden, we dont know if it is the same person. All Hiddens are the same. And if there is a problem, how can we report Hidden to the Powers That Be. At least with Profile X, we can identify Profile X and the Powers That Be can investigate/whatever.

  I agree - the post seems very suspect when the poster is Hidden/Deleted. I always like to know who I'm responding to.
