    Quite a story!

I guess in Tennessee, they would be just 'roommates', eh?

I'm surprised the attacker wasn't able to kill the dude with a 9mm pistol AND a crossbow! Talk about a total murder fail.

A Tennessee man faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot his former roommate, a local TV meteorologist, with a crossbow and arrow.
Gerald D. Taylor, 53, is accused of breaking into the home he had shared with Robert William Batot, 43, in Johnson City, Tenn., and firing shots at him with both a crossbow and a 9 mm pistol, according to a report in the Johnson City Press.

Batot, who works as a meteorologist for WJHL, filed an order of protection against Taylor in May, asking the court to keep him away from the home they shared as well as from going to Batot's workplace, according to the report.

Batot apparently had an arrow sticking from his chest when police arrived. Taylor attempted to run away from the scene but was apprehended by police.

Taylor is also charged with aggravated burglary and violation of an order of protection.

In the order of protection, Batot said Taylor had slashed the tires on his car and put water in the gas tank, according to the report. Batot also said Taylor threatened to slander Batot's name and kill Batot and then himself.
Batot, known on-air as Rob Williams, issued a statement on WJHL thanking the public for their concern. He says he is recovering with plans to return to the station soon.

I just realized I should've posted this in the insane roommate thread.
