Disgusting. Those who fear the legalization of drugs seem to ignore the costs of prohibition.

As a side note: While this raid was conducted under President George W. Bush, the deputy administrator of the DEA at that time was Michele Leonhart. She is now the administrator of the DEA, thanks to an appointment by President Barack Obama. Furthermore, the Obama Administration could have declined to defend the DEA in this case. Instead, Obama's Justice Department has decided to make the case that federal agents should be allowed to hold guns to the heads of children.

If a doctor operated on the wrong patient he would loose his license.

Lawyers and Law enforcement have spent the better part of 100 years immunizing themselves against the laws everyone else follows.

I am sure we will never know if any of the those DEA agents lost there jobs at least.

Did they render a apology or even try to settle with the family?

Although there has to be some necessary immunity when carrying out government affairs. There seems nearly no professional accountability for the people who make these blunders.

What is ironic is that our armed forces bend over backwards to follow arcane rules of engagement during War. We tolerate law enforcement performing in a sloppy manner.

1 decision the 9th circuit made I can agree with.
