Well....they have hit the $300,000 mark...but people who have said they donated can still back out...so they are trying to get a little more as a buffer.

That's too bad. I hope you find it but you should be protected if you notified the credit card companies. As far as the project is concerned, your intentions were good, and after its release, you will be able to help by spreading the word.

I will like to start by first saying I am sorry for what happen to them. I frankly don't see why anyone will dispute the validity of this story, especially because it's a very common theme-- very sad. I have no doubt that it is the truth. Many people here act so cold hearted, so indifferent to this story. I find this sad. Not just because no one acknowledge that this could be truth, but because of the nature of the situation.

Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is extremely wealthy and can afford to finance the film herself.

Her best friends are the Clintons. Why did Linda continue to support Bill Clinton after he signed DOMA?

Republicans can help by sending a President to office who doesn't finance the execution and imprisonment of gays in foreign countries like the current occupant.

I strongly urge you to stop and watch this video and if you can spare the time watch OWN where, Oprah Winfrey will present a special night of programming focusing on the conversation around being gay in America on Sunday, October 27. Oprah's Next Chapter leads off the night (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) Immediately following is the world television premiere of the groundbreaking documentary Bridegroom (10 p.m. - 12 a.m. ET/PT)

Please repost this on your time line and lets educate each other about the hardships faced everyday.
And if you dont have/get OWN you can see it on Netflix the same night.

You can vote for Bridegroom here: http://www.indiepixfilms.com/videocontest_sv/IFP-AUDIENCE/5n6-hme7Y2k
    It is easy!

"We are incredibly proud to announce that Bridegroom has qualified as a finalist for this year’s 2013 Gotham Independent Film Awards Audience Award. This particular award celebrates those films that have won audience awards at the Top 50 US and Canadian film festivals. Bridegroom is eligible, having won the audience award at every festival at which it’s been screened. This honor is a culmination of all of the support we have received from various festivals and their attendees, and for it we are truly blessed.

We, the filmmakers and producers, never set out to win awards, but to tell a simple love story and, with any luck, open people’s hearts and minds. We are always humbled and excited when Bridegroom receives acknowledgment, and we hope that this nomination will further promote our message of Equal Love/Equal Rights.

Your belief in Bridegroom Movie makes achievements like this possible, and we are indescribably grateful for your ongoing support. Bridegroom could not have been made without you, and we hope you are as proud of this film as we are.

You have until November 5th to visit the link below and select your top five Audience Award winning films. We hope you will help Bridegroom reach and inspire more men and women by voting."

I watched this movie, or documentary as it were, last week on Oprah's cable channel. I cried for the whole two hours. What a wonderful, but heart wrenching story. Except for the extraordinarily tragic ending, we should all be so lucky to find and to have a relationship like those two had. I never have.

"REDBOX, which recently stopped renting out documentaries from its popular kiosks, has decided to make an exception and add BRIDEGROOM to its vast inventory of movies and games. REDBOX President Anne Saunders believes that ‪#‎BRIDEGROOM‬ tells an important story and contains a powerful message that should be available to its millions of customers.

Anne has pledged to get BRIDEGROOM into all of REDBOX's 44,000 kiosks by December 17th. She went one step further by adding that REDBOX will do something it has never done before, and contribute 5% of BRIDEGROOM'S proceeds to these wonderful human rights groups: GLAAD, GLSEN, PFLAG, and FREEDOM TO MARRY.

This generous gesture could pose a great risk to REDBOX, so I encourage all of you to join me in showing gratitude to this incredible company by visiting a kiosk near you and not only renting BRIDEGROOM, but one of the other 200 available titles. With any luck, the success of ‪#‎BRIDEGROOMMOVIE‬ will ensure that other important documentaries will be made available in their kiosks in the future.

Thank you Anne and REDBOX for supporting the LGBTQ community and for making BRIDEGROOM and its story of love, hope, and equality, more accessible to millions of Americans."

paulflexes saidIt takes more than an online tragedy to coerce me into giving money to someone who has no proof other than a 2.5 paragraph blog with no substantiating evidence.

And no, I'm not sorry for the cold-hearted nature of this response.

Maybe because that would take a heart.
