He may have suspicions and is baiting you to come out. Though the outcome may not be positive.

The egg and sperm donors, who gave birth to me, with their attempt to raise children had the same beliefs against discrimination. But it did not include sexual orientation. I had to leave their family for my sanity. It is not always a bad thing to do.

I agree though, stand up to your brother.

My brother was anti-gay until my niece came out at 18.

I don't think you need to have the pessimistic view that some of the other posters espouse here. I came out to my family late in life (in my late-30s), and I was concerned about their reactions as any rational human being would be. But they're my family, and we love each other, so I wasn't nearly as concerned as I was with other friends and acquaintances. All of my family members' reactions were the same..."It doesn't change anything. I still love you". It make take some time for them to adjust, and you'll have to give them that time. It took you a while to get used to it yourself, I'm sure. Similar to the post above, sometimes all it takes is actually KNOWING someone who is gay to change their perception of homosexuality.

singles saidIn the past week on two different occasions my brother has said ugly words about gays. I am not out but it makes me furious to hear him talk this way. I might explode on him one day very soon. icon_twisted.gif
You need to come out to him then..If you do 2 possible results..1) He respects your honestly and now that he knows you're gay he'll stop...2) He breaks ties with you..Then at least you don't need to listen to his bullshit anymore...
