It almost seems sometimes that you like to bully others. I hope that is not the case and I have inferred inaccurately.

Only butthurt people, creepers, and gross foreveralones

So what category does the OP fall under?

Creeper, or likely to become one.

Firebrand saidYou Cruise, You Lose = if you go to the gym for any purpose other than working out or seek to engage in suspect activity at the gym such as hitting on, groping, or having sex with others, your gym membership will be revoked and/or the homophobic straight dude you hit on will beat the piss out of you.

I see, well I go to the gym to work out not to socialize thats one of the reasons I had my doubts about this guy and if I should talk to him because I dont like when some people try to start a conversation with me, only if those were hot guys I would be more than interested but it has not happen yet

pd. sorry, I´m aware my english its bad but sure I´ll get better soonicon_biggrin.gif

Then treat others as you would want to be treated. Unless of course you think you are a hot enough guy that you think he'd cut you the same slack that you would another hot guy. icon_lol.gif

You say he is looking at you. Then let him make the first move.

Have fun with that. I choose to ask more questions before judging people's character and give benefit of the doubt. You included.

If Firebrand is serious (which I doubt he is and I think he's doing this more because he's an attention whore and likes to stir the pot) than Karma is going to be a real bitch to him!

Jockular saidLOL....some people on here are funny. just because someone is staring at you in the gym doesn't mean they want you. it could be the huge zit on your forehead or the booger hanging out of your nose.....or you're hogging the weights or bench they want to use while you're just sitting there looking pretty.

    " huge booger"

I know it's like admitting the sick fuck I really am to think that was funny but I did.

Normal, logical advice seems to upset some who read into it based on their own insecurities and hang-ups then lash out at you. special kind of lulz needs its own term.

I'm confused. Are you saying that his advice is logical and normal?

Yup, that's basically what I'm saying. To paraphrase, go to the gym to work out, not be creepy. That doesn't preclude meeting people or being anti-social. Just seems to me people read into that what they want then get offended for some reason.

I can relate to the advice not to be creepy and you can meet people you would never meet by not being forward, especially if there's an age difference. Example - a guy in my gym mid 20s, extremely good-looking and ripped. I noticed his lifting technique - excellent form and very smooth. Forced myself to not stare. Couple of days later he was at the gym same time, and he happened to be a couple of benches away from me. Between sets he called to me said he was thinking of starting to log his workouts the way I do - I carry a small notebook. Anyway, we started talking. Very friendly, east to talk to. Over a period of a few weeks we ended up working out together. It was extremely motivating for me, and I had some knowledge he appreciated. We both have dogs. He suggested we hang out so our dogs could play. A while after that he left the area because he was accepted to an elite military training program. Point is - if I was actively looking, or cruising, I'm sure it would have been a turn-off. It turned out to be a good experience.

John, a notebook? Wtf, not iFitness? Gotta get with it man !

The notebook is pretty small and handy. I have not used iFitness but looked at the screen shots and have downloaded several others. None of them meet my requirements. I don't care about pictures and descriptions how to do exercises. I don't care if they exist as long as they are on screens I don't need to see and don't take up space on screens that show sets and reps. Many apps, looks like this one, shows a goal wt and rep for a set. Some apps, doesn't look like this one, show the complete wt/rep history for last time the exercise was performed. I don't see that in the sample screens here. What I also want to know, that I haven't seen with any app is in addition to the complete wt/rep history, the order that the exercise was performed within the muscle group. I will modify the workout every few weeks, but during that period I have a general order of exercises, but I will frequently modify that order based on weight, bench, or equip availability. Knowing the order of last time compared to this time helps me know if I should be able to easily exceed my performance last time, or if it might be a struggle.

    LMAO

Karma isn't real, it's something made up by liberals as a replacement threat-of-punishment-for-bad-behavior that serves a function akin to belief in a higher power.

Well if you believe in a higher power- he's going to punish you for being such as asshole. So karma or your higher power will get you in the end.

Or maybe I'm not being an asshole and people are being trashy hookers, and I'm just calling them what they are

I use android JeFit sorta ... mostly for tracking my weight, but once in a while when we change routines we use to come with some new ideas regarding what to do. After 40+ years in gyms, I’m pretty disciplined and don’t need much help staying focused. I think I’m also one of the friendliest folks in there and know pretty much everyone and that’s now extended into hanging out after the gym and going out and doing things.

I took the time to read all your replies I didn´t expect them to be so many!

I find some posts really helpful. To make this clear: I go to the gym primarily to work out and I do it seriously since I started a year ago. Now, this is not the first time I notice a guy hot and its not that I´m in love with this one. I just found him hot and yes, I would never go to him, put myself In evidence and tell him to go to the sauna and jerk of each other. I just was asking for ideas about how could I start a conversation/intercact with him and I think asking about how a machine operates or about a particular routine sounds good. I think the gym, as some other places, are good places to meet people as long you dont bother anyone. There´s people to happen dont understand this. I made some friends at my gym mostly because they started a conversation with me, asking about a routine, telling me how good my psique was, etc. But yeah, there were also. people I found anoying because they were imprudent, talking to me while I was lifting and some gay guys were the worse, asking me for a drink, go to party even making myself clear about not being interested on them. (if Í´d found them hot of course I´d have acepted their invitations)

Shit dude life is short! Just strike up a conversation with him and see how that goes. Once you do that you broke the ice and you made a connection. The worst thing he can say is he's not interested or he might do otherwise.
