Ok, here are some facts for the headless chickens of RJ:
Currently Germany has a conservative-libertarian ruling coalition from CDU(CSU) - FDP. CDU stands for Christian Democratic Union - how much progress do you guys expect in GLBT issues from a party with CHRISTIAN in its title? (Do you really think GLBT rights in the US will grow in leaps and bounds if Romney wins in November? hardly, right?)
The German constitution states that marriage is a union of one man and one woman. That paragraph has been in there since way before gay-liberation. To change the constitution in Germany you need a 2/3 majority in parliament.
Gays in Germany already have Civil Unions, granting most of the rights and obligations, but not all of them. So, if "Nazi"-Germany is light-years ahead of the US, what does this make the US? Bigoted States of Christianistan
