skykey still has a point. Some people take gays being a scout leader very seriously and negatively. Have you read comments on these articles?

The world is filled with incredibly stupid and ignorant people, who may take things in any number of erroneous ways. Why concede any dignity to ignorance and stupidity? There are NOT two sides to everything in life. Sometimes some people are wrong and do not deserve dignity applied to their erroneous beliefs but should be called out for what they are.

skykey saidAnd? He worked for an organisation that didn't want to work with gays. So it's obvious what was going to happen.

    That doesn't make it right.

People say the most ridiculous stuff.

He knew the deal about gays in the Boy Scouts so he shouldn't be surprised when they fired them. His situation is analogous to a women having a baby out of wedlock teaching at a Southern Baptist school. When you work for certain organisation, especially Conservative ones, there are usually moral conduct that your expected to follow.
Are you saying that being gay is a choice? Because having a baby certainly is.

The Boy Scouts should be ashamed of their policy of homophobia.

My brother in law refused to let his sons join the Scouts because they discriminate against gay people and non-Christians. I think more and more people have had it with these social conservatives who use "religion" as a cover for their own right-wing/bigoted political agenda.

Making kids feel bad for who they are is especially despicable.

Iceblink saidTuesday, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced it was reaffirming its policy banning all gay people from all aspects and all levels of Scouting. On Friday, 22-year old Tim Griffin, an Eagle Scout who is gay, and was the most-tenured staffer at Camp Winton, a Boy Scouts of America summer camp in California, was fired. Some BSA leaders stated he was fired for dress code violations, while others add his behavior was part of the decision. But Griffin, who worked at Camp Winton for eight years, rising to program director, says he’s certain he was fired for being gay, and noted, ”They told me in a very harsh way that I don’t embody the true Scouting spirit.”

No wonder I was only a scout for like 10 minutes.................................or maybe setting a boy's tepee on fire had something to do with it icon_lol.gif hmm....
