endo saidI cite the guy above you who now thinks Siouxsie and the Banshees are French as Example A why you should be accurate in your post title.

He fails to read my exact words then. If you weren't here turning my thread into a political statement, none of this would be happening and I wouldn't have to explain myself word for word. If you know so much about Artists you will know they hate discussing politics.

I don't see how correcting her nationality is a political statement. In fact, I believe you're the one who called all of England "self-centered communists."

To satisfy YOUR perception of my semantics I have eliminated your grievances. I could get more technical about where the fuck The Creatures began but, this was suppose to be a thread about the FUCKING music which is now become a waste of my time. Do me a favor next time I want to post something on artistic expression and ignore it. Your motives show no respect towards the Artist or what their desires are. Case closed, and again, thanks for fucking up what was to be enjoyment.

Thanks for the thread, I love Sioux. Actually she left France about 6 or 7 years ago after breaking up with Budgie and she now dwells back in London. Let that be the end of it. Here are some of my faves.

Alpha13 saidI don't understand why her comeback album and career was pretty much ignored by the music world. That is probably why she moved it to France.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT and she would definitely agree with you. If you ever watch the movie 24 Hour Party People, there's a message in it with regards to communism. Look at Sinead 'O Connor... Hates England.

I really didn't want this thread to be about politics and the original title of this post was not to cause controversy, but rather pay tribute to Siouxsie. What is sad is that these artists were getting discovered in the same club and now you rarely find that people even recognize that.

I was perhaps guilty of a MINOR political statement by including the bands she was discovered with. I forget now the name of the club as I haven't watched it in so long, but it's no wonder Death Rock is nolonger attributed to Siouxsie and The Banshees.

I am very sorry if I provoked the politicsthese bands hate being put in the light of, but unlike you, some people look at these bands as a fucking PRODUCT. Is like butchering sheep.

I've been a poet all my life. I value the artist as an individual rather than as mass marketer.

Oh yeah. Discovery - Siouxsie and the Banshees first "gig" was at the 100 Club in London in 1976 which was hosting a punk band night just before Punk exploded and went overground. The Manchester gig you are referring to was maybe the Elizabeth Hall gig in 1977? I don't mean to be pedantic, but they weren't discovered in Manchester at all but were very much a London based band.

She is definitely unique and a pioneer and deserves all the honours thrown at her. Best albums for me are Juju and Peepshow. Apparently she has new music coming soon which is exciting.

Let me put it this way, they were ALL shunned from England.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!! She is so incredibly talented I honestly believe she has enough passion to create great music with the same potent originality per release along the way for a number of lifetimes.
