"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

    Shakespeare

The problem with denying something that we do not presently understand or can not conceive of is that there are examples of these kinds of discoveries within our present history. To deny something is to deny possibility. However, belief is a very strong word implying acceptance. As a retired scientist, I think it important to keep an open mind.

If you want to have your present knowledge about the physical world in doubt, than you might want to Google, Zero Point Field. It is a subject about quantum physics that is very controversial right now, however, if eventually proven, some folks say we may be a little closer to discovering God.

BlueJeans90 saidyup, shit is real. I have family members including my mom who used Ouija before as well as talking to the dead.

It's hard to get me to turn down dares, but messing with an Ouija board is where I definitely draw the line.

I want a first hand experience of it. I always wish for something to happen in a dream but it never does. I think that would be the ultimate rush. icon_eek.gif

Watch The Excorsim of Emily Rose, a true story (with some obvious Hollywood flare) but indeed very true.

You can visit holy relics of saints that have not decomposed or aged a day.

There have also been holy eucharistic hosts that have a mysterious glow around them.

There is a long recorded history of ghost sightings, angels, demons, and unexplainable phenomena (and not just in the Bible) I highly doubt it has been a bunch of crazy people hallucenating or having some mental disease or what have you. The testimonies are too similar.

There is more beyond this life on earth in my opinion. This is just the beginning. Whatever is next is what we call "supernatural", and I believe in it with all my soul.

Oh yeah! We all have souls, there's another reason.

If gay marriage rights has turned you off to God and the supernatural, again, in my opinion, I think you may be looking at the world through a very narrow lense.

Shocking for a gay man to say, I know! That'll fuck em up!

My little brother dreamed of when our grandpa would die to the exact night. The night he was going to die, he woke everyone up so we could say a proper farewell. Our grandpa passed that same night.

So yeah, I'm a believer. It's only supernatural because we don't understand it. If there weren't such a taboo around occurrences of psi and etc, it could be properly tested like all other things. It's why we don't live on a flat earth anymore or why the sun no longer revolves around the earth. If people let taboo keep them from trying a thing to see if it is true or not, then true progress is halted until that taboo breaks.

I believe there is "science & nature" and there is "our current understanding of science & nature". To me supernaturality has more to do with things we don't understand/haven't discovered. So yeah, I believe that there are things that we perceive as supernatural phenomenon that can't be explained by our current understanding of science & nature but will be discovered in the future. There is so much to still be discovered about space, matter and biology.

SoloXCRacer saidNot sure it's really super natural, but when I was in high school, I head a really hard time getting up in the morning for school. My mother would wake me up, and then I would fall back asleep again. Frustrated, she yelled out my name and the phrase "WAKE UP!!", which immediately made me sit up. He has a very loud voice. This was a regular occurrence.

To this day, I still have trouble getting up in the morning. Every now and then, I swear to god I hear my mother's yell at me to get up, and my eyes are wide open and I sit up in a sudden fashion. Now here's the creepy part, my mother is alive and well. Is relatively healthy and we speak regularly. It has happened several times, and kinda creeps me out.

I think you shouldn't worry about this. Your brain likely arranged itself (from your mother's help during those years) somehow to associate this useful memory for with your waking up. Brain can get amazingly realistic at perceiving things, whether real or not.

I definitely believe in the supernatural. The apartment that I live in is haunted by at least three spirits. I have one friend who refuses to enter my apartment after having spent the night. He refuses to talk about it other than to say my place is creepy.
