YES! speaking from experience, i remember for a high school trip we spent three days and two nights down in canyon de chelly and another year at canyon del muerto. both are adjacent to each other, long story short some areas was where the US Calvary massacred some of my distant ancestor during the late 1800's. go ahead call me crazy but at night you could hear screaming, cries pain, smell the gunpowder and hot blood. there are other sights like that in northern AZ and NM from battles and massacres that happened between Navajos and US Calvary. I don't believe in coincidence but the pueblo indians and utes have similar stoires of sites like that.
