Another_Jeremy saidOnly a person with a very low IQ would extrapolate a horrific event in a country to use as a critique of an entire continent with over a billion people on it. Gays face violence and murder in the US and I don't recall you making broad comments about the entire populace of this country.

You've yet to answer why you get to ride the high road against ageism, but when blacks do the same against racism they're being dishonest, politically correct victims.

I think it's been well established that Scruffy is a racist. There's no point reasoning with the unreasonable. If they are so proud of the fact, why don't they seek each other out? Scruffy, Smegmatron is waiting to hear from you. I wonder what happens when racists of clashing ethnicities come together. Will they cancel each other out? Hmmm...

First off dont feel like you're alone. This kind of behavior regarding racism in the gay community is everywhere in the US, the worst I ever saw was in Virginia, literally a gay bar where whites were on one side and blacks on the other. I fel like I had warped back to 1950. You really have to call people out on this and let them know they're wrong even if it means standing up to ones own ethnic group, I've had to do it several times to white people. Oddly enough the best gay race race relations I've seen have been in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. Who'd have thought??!

Whenever I walk downtown here in gaytown, 8/10 times I get insulted publicly (by AA/black) gay(s) if I am with my caucasian/white friend. If I was with more than one friend nothing would happen most likely. I assume people think we are together/dating which is not true but the observer cannot understand that.

If with my black friend, 0/10 times will I be insulted publicly. This is true for friends of other races/ethnicity as well. I honestly think something is wrong with this city at times. Perhaps this is an example of the lack of racial diversity in the public setting creating a skewed view of what's acceptable in the gay community.

On this matter I honestly don't give a flying frappuccino but I am just providing the input.

Don't forget Houston. I'd put it right under NYC as the most diverse city in the country. Erbody forgets about us.

I was just reading in another forum a discussion about Houston. And while yes, it is one of the most diverse cities in the country, it does not have the reputation as such.

And for a young gay male, it isn't exactly on the radar. If I wanted to raise a family, I would live in Houston. But at this point of my life I would not.

And this is all coming from a guy born and raised in Houston.

That is because everybody forgets about Houston. It lacks a national reputation in everything.

Houston has always had a bit on an identity crisis.

Dallas is the stereotypical big, rich, cowboy city.

Austin is the liberal oasis in the south.

San Antonio has the feel of an old Texas-Mexican village surrounded by modern buildings.

    And Houston is......????

It is more if a business town than anything else. There is not one thing that stands out as a symbol of Houston. Maybe the space theme, but IMHO it has not been able to successfully capitalize on that....
