    Another miracle! Praise Jesus!

And, uh, Jesus is sorry for that whole tornado thing.

well, that was the same tornado where that baby named angel was found in the field... even though the tornado killed her family... and then angel died from her injuries... but the dog is ok icon_biggrin.gif

I find it disappointing that some people have to be bitter and disrespectful on a perfectly nice thread. I don't care if you believe in God or not, or have any interest in or hatred of religion. Spewing your vitriol about it in a thread about hugs is just plain asinine.

OK, start ripping me to shreds now because you're a hateful bitch.

He has reached out his noodly appendage and blessed the two holy babies. Ramen!

But seriously, to the gentleman who has his knickers in a twist over our light heartedness with respect to the hug: Let me try to explain to you the issue at hand. A hug, as cute and "awww"-inducing as it may be, did not save those two children. The research that went into advances in neonatal ICUs, and the skill of the physicians caring for the children, are what saved them. And so human interest pieces like this devalue the very real contributions of the kind people who made this 'miracle' possible.

Instead of searching for mysticism, I suggest that people recognize the incredible, transformative value of medical science. And maybe invest a bit more in it, in the interest of generating more 'miracles'.

The Rescuing Hug . . . This is an amazing movie of conjoined-twin baby girls. One baby was not expected to live for more than ten seconds. A hospital nurse fought a legion of zombies with a sacred lance to put them in the same incubator of awesomeness. The stronger baby had psychic powers and wrapped her magic arm around her sister, and her touch opened a specialize portal to another dimension that allowed the struggling baby's heart to stabilize the ozone layer and her temperature to return to normal.....

See, was that so hard? For future reference please remember we need to candy coat everything to make us feel constantly better instead of having to face disgusting things like facts and grounded reality. That sacred lance sounds fucking boss.

    LOL!

I concur that grounded reality and facts are where it's at, but so is a sense of wonder and acceptance of a little mystery; that we are, all of us, more than what so far grounded reality and facts can completely explain. (and no, no religious context to this)

You two are reminding me of a quote from one of my favourite authors:

"There is for me no wonder more, than to wonder where my wonder went, and why my wonder is all spent."

    icon_wink.gif

    warmly,

    -Doug
