    For the OP

    iphone-5-0.jpg

I would go for the black one! its Black shade has that luxury feel in its design especially coming from an aluminium construction! White doesnt seem too pronounce with this design, if they made it pure grey-ish silver! that would give another classy look to it!

I pick stupid, because you would have to be a complete moron to buy a new one at this point. Let the lemmings be the test sheep to work out the bugs and if you need a new phone, wait a few months.
Otherwise, why replace what is working? Are you really that shallow that you need to buy the latest product Apple tells you to purchase just because they tell you to do it?

How insecure do you have to be to go out of your way to insult people who have the audacity to *gasp* buy something you wouldn't?

As much as I AM lusting over an i-5; I think that I will wait until after the first of the year to purchase one.

1 - Some people can afford it
2 - Some may be upgrading now cause their contract is up
3 - Some shattered their current iPhones and need a new one
4 - Some have never had one and this will be their first one
5 - Some will just hate on whoever can buy something they cant afford.

Neither at this point. Pre-orders are already sold out and I was planning on waiting until next year anyway.

I like getting the latest, especially with LTE, but it's also a game for me to see how little I can pay to upgrade swapping out my 4S. Although Gazelle is not always the cheapest way to sell the old model, it is hassle free. Will also compare Best Buy in store trade in. With Gazelle, it has been better to get their offer early several days before launch. Then you would try to get the new one ASAP to stay within the 30 day offer window. In this case, several days ago I got an offer of $314 for my 64GB 4S AT&T, but early today the offers went up to $334 so I got a new one.

At 12 PDT the AT&T site went live a minute or two before the Apple site, but bogged down. I got into Apple at 12:02, had upgrade eligibility confirmed and order completed at 12:04, and received a confirmation email a couple of minutes later.

    White,

I have left my black iPhone in golf carts so many times (the last time someone walked away with it) that I need the white one to stand out against the black background!

That cost me $400 and another 2-year contract!

an appropriate rounded-corners cover for said innovations. Clearly i'm one of the great technological innovators of this present generation.

I have to admit.. Black looks better. It has that classic look like Art_Deco said, and I've always thought that the older models of iphone in white just.. suited better to girls. As most of my male friends have black iPhones and the girls have white.
