You passed up a chance to work out with testosterone-driven Slavs so you can hang with a bunch of bureaucratic dweebs?

So true. I saw NJ. People there smelled better and were more polite than Buffalo people.

HndsmKansan saidHey lets try and be reasonable to the OP here, he's new to RJ and wants some real answers, lets try and help him out!

My suggestion on all points is to see (you might have to ask around) what this gym and any others might have as far as a "new year special"... true, that doesn't happen until the start of the new year, but if they do have some kind of special rate for (in most cases New Years Resolutioners), that might help you significantly over the long term. If that were the case, you would need to find a "stop gap gym" in the meantime (some places in the US, like "Planet Fitness" one can just join for a month).

If you want to proceed and join, instead of waiting for others to sign up so they can "run the course", see if you can get a member to give you an inpromptu course so you can get familiar with all that they have. If the gym requires you to go through their "approved course", ask if in the meantime you can go through it informally one on one with someone and that when they are ready to run their course, you can take it then (but have access to the facility now.

As far as your arm question, if you can't use the gym, I'd suggest asking where there might be some barbell/ dumbell, etc around (maybe at a school or at someone's home) that you might use.

I can imagine that it is really a pain having to go through this.... I've be really irritated myself, but go the extra mile and given a little time, may work itself through. Good luck with your workouts and welcome to RJ!

Thanks for one of the few (and possibly only) polite, helpful and intelligent answers on this thread! ;) Made my electronic day.

    sc69 saidHey Gwynn,

    1. Never unfortunately been in a situation like that
    2. If its club policy, try talking to the dean or if there's a manager there see if you can possibly sign a 'waiver' of their responsibility until you've done your induction.
    3. Probably not, it sounds like they need someone to do the induction who is paid to do it - you could try to find out how that works, who it is and ask them for creative help.
    4. Get yourself some resistance bands for flyes and rows, do push ups on incline, medicine balls in the facility. Do pull ups wherever you can too.

p.s. Glad you're back where you wanted to be - its time to move on and not be so emotive about the USA... ok?

    Good advice.

If you don't want to develop anxiety and depression like I did while I was there I would say yes.

Sorry mate I think your plastic surgeon went into retirement after all the work he did to turn you from a train wreck into a something that resembles a human. All the plastic in the world might make you look like a supermodel but calling me ugly shows that your a horrible cunt on the inside so I guess i'll remain content with my ugliness.

I made a few friends there today, very friendly people even though they may be juicers, lol. Could also be that Slavic ancestry, I think Slavs have to be the only ethnicity stronger than the Celts, lol

    Sure, you are.

I just don't get why you'd start off a question on a website that is predominantly populated by people in the US by calling the entire country uncivilized...and expect no backlash.

Because it is and you know it. Don't be ashamed, embrace it. Civilisation gets boring after awhile. Also, you said I was ugly, and it's ok, i'm comfortable with not having supermodel looks. It hurts sometimes but I try and make up for it in other ways.

Would that be income inequality? Welcome to capitalism. Or social inequality?

Your argument holds no weight. Kind of like your biceps at the gym.

So, I don't have the right to attack one person, but you have the right to attack an entire country?

Hmm, it seems like you'd fit in here much better than you think.
