What do you guys think of the iPhone 5; would you upgrade?

Ariodante saidSometime in the next few weeks. I never got the 4, will be nice to skip from 3 to 5.

ur gonna look at your 3 and be like... "why did i have u all this time?"

If you're not on a good LTE network it doesn't seem that much better than a 4s in function, but in a class of it's own in form... I guess that's Apple's thing but I'm a sucker for it.

Then I'll be like "Oh right I was too broke to get the 4"
ART_DECO saidI plan to upgrade in October or early November, depending on availability, as I've done before. Will make a color choice at the local Apple store just 2-1/2 miles away, may just pedal the bike over as I've done before. Then may buy it there, too, since I don't see a free engraving option like I got with my iPad for online purchase only.
I just checked online, and my partner's older 4 is eligible for an upgrade price, but my newer 4S is about double the cost. Now the trick will be to see if I upgrade his 4, which would put his existing phone number on the 5, can I later swap the numbers of the 2 phones, making the 5 have my number, and the 4S his number?
We've sort of done that before, but it was when we upgraded my 4 to the 4S, and transferred his 3GS account to my 4. I'll phone Apple and ask them if this scheme would be permitted with the 5 and 4S. Does anyone know if the SIM cards are the same for those 2 phones, so I could do it myself? And whether AT&T would notice a discrepancy in the phone internal ID numbers?
Given his bad track record with cell phones he's been getting my old phone while I get the new. He's done things like sending one through the washing machine, losing another to theft, and destroying yet a third, plus not making use of most of the iPhone features. I also keep an unused phone on hand as back-up, ready to reactivate in minutes if his kills another phone, as I've had to do once already.
Sebastian2 saidI think iPhone 5 uses a new sim card called the ''nano sim card'' So I'm not sure if you can transfer the numbers between an iPhone 4S and iPhone 5

Well then the Apple or AT&T stores should be able to do it, I've had them swap phones with dissimilar SIM cards before. They have readers for all the cards and can move the data from one type of card to another. They'd have to do that if I did the more typical upgrade of my 4S to the 5.

In fact, when I got the 4 it was purchased online with home delivery. I activated it and swapped it with my 3GS account myself, with both phones alternately plugged into iTunes on my iMac, as I recall. I didn't have to go to any store. The program did all the work for me online, I didn't touch a SIM card, it even deactivated the 3GS.
Funny you mention it, back when the iPhone 4 first came out, and people had to use a micro-sim card. I searched some youtube tutorials on how to cut the normal sized sim card to a micro sized sim card and still make it work with all the contacts and data still being intact
Those were times.
