I've been following the World cup qualifiers since they started. It's always interesting to see good teams fail, or to see underdogs make it to the big show.

The North/central america groups for round 3 are almost done, and the top 2 of each group of 4 (there are 3 groups) make it to the final round where 3 of the 6 teams will get their ticket to the world cup and a 4th team will get a chance to fight for it.

With 1 game left per team in round 3, Canada needs a win or a tie in Honduras on Tuesday to make it to round 4. With a tie on Tuesday in Kansas City against Guatemala, the US would also assure their participation in round 4.

Mexico is already assured to be in that group.

I've also been following a lot of the other qualifiers in the world.

    Who are you following closely?

The group system is fixed so the USA always qualify. FIFA have an obsession with trying to popularise "soccer" in the USA. Or rather, they are obsessed with the money they imagine they can make from this.
They are, of course deluded. Even gifting them the '94 World Cup left the game invisible.

US, Germany, and Portugal. Germany has an effortless style, and great young players. Portugal's always fun to watch because of C.R.

Im from Uruguay so I'm following the South America group closely. We're 5th on the table right now, whatever it takes we have to make it to Brazil 2014 since for the first time ever we're 300km away from everything.

I'm obviously going to be following the Nigerian Qualification every step of the way. I think the team they have now is much, much better than what they had in 2010. Ghana is another team I will be watching out for, there style of playing has improve drastically over the years and I think they got cheated in the last world cup. The last team I will be rooting for is Canada. Canada, even though they've never really proven to be competitive when it comes to soccer, seem to be doing better this year. If you ask me who will win the cup, I will have to say Brazil. I don't think it can be disputable.

Belgium is already qualified and I expect them to do fairly well at the world cup. Should make until quarter finals, anything beyond that will be difficult I think.
