spgem saidTo ATXnative & Cash: This is what I mean. U get guys like these limiting & censoring an honest observation. Posturing to get the last word thinking their word is the end of discussion final valid say.

    Really?

I am reasonably well known on RJ and most everyone knows that I am extremely AGAINST censorship. Hence I never even block anyone as I consider IT to be a form of censorship.

All I said is the point you are making is not contigent on sexual orientation. Minority status does not trump Human nature.

Considering you are unable to take a 4-word comment on spelling made by @ATXnative without playing victim, it would seem that you "limit" yourself with your own "posturing."

If you want to have an open conversation, then have one. If you are looking to add to the guest list of yer little pity party that's a different story.

You're not being judged (at least here) btw. You just don't own the exclusive patent to make observations.

    You both failed each other.

Medjai saidI think sexuality needs to be taken out of the equation. It's just people judging people. Has always happened, and will always happen, regardless of any group an individual associates with.

Judging is an inferior man's way of trying to show his superiority.

    Apparently it is.
You have a point you want to share, then you would want to make sure that the message is clear to the readers.
Between your spelling and misusing "irony" I'm still judging you.

...And it's not a gay thing.

Gotta pipe in here, with semantics aside, and back to the origins of the thread:

Yes everyone has the judgmental gene somewhere, and we all have to try and remind ourselves not to be. It is a constant self-check.

That being said, I find the "gay community" in San Francisco to be extremely judgmental. If you don't fit in to one or more gay stereotypes that are propagated by guys who feel the need to be associate with a "group", then there is a lot of judging. I know that all of this comes from insecurity, and a need to fit in rather than be an individualist. I say wherever anyone is at, they are at, whether it be age, evolvement, or body type.

It's funny when I watch the Gay Pride parade, I think to myself "there's a lot to be proud of, a lot of people making great strides in equality. But there's a lot work to be done in just accepting ourselves".

Your back-pedaling must be excellent cardio.

    You don't even make sense.

This topic has been covered multiple times on RJ usually with interesting results and observations. Of course THOSE threads weren't started by angry little boys reeling from imaginary slights and lack of attenton at the local bar looking for a fight simply for the sake of attention.

    Does that sound judgemental?

I love that this thread appeared on the front page rundown just below the RuPaul Drag Race thread, a show where gays judge, ahem, gays.

It's a dog eat dog world out there -

That being said, I don't think it's proper to pass judgement on people (including straight and LGBT people); however, it's human nature to do so. icon_twisted.gif

I have something to add to this judging thing. Does anyone else find the need to list your HIV status offensive? I mean do we say if we are asthmatic or near-sited?

I've had this happen at a party...two guys talking, not five feet away, sideways glances and the "he must be on steroids" comment. I figure if they're talking shit about me they're leaving someone else alone...plus it does my ego good to know I've been noticed...hehe...

To be insulted by this kind of behavior is to be insecure about yourself. I always look at it as I don't really know you and I don't really respect you so who gives a crap what you think...
