Thankful for a country to live in that has its problems, and much to be fixed, but has a system that allows fixing, correcting, and adapting.

Thankful for the right to defend said country, and not be prevented from doing so because of who I choose to sleep with.

Thankful for the "Band of Brothers" I serve with. I know any of them would take a bullet for me, and I love them enough to never want them to.

Thankful for the brothers who didn't make it home, with me, and for their sacrifices and honor.

Thankful for a family that accepts me for who I am, what I do, and always has my back.

Thankful for a healthy body with no major ailments or handicaps, for a roof over my head, food on my table, a mind that works most of the time, and the ability to express all of these things in a forum that can be read throughout the globe.

And lastly, I'm thankful for those damn Dorito Tacos... we must have our vices, after all.

I'm thankful for the fact that no matter how shitty my life is or can get, I'm still better off than hundreds of millions, if not billions of people with whom we share this planet.

Where I live, we have a lot of homeless people both home-grown and people who somehow got over here from the mainland, and I'm thankful that I live in a comfortable apartment with low rent.

I'm thankful that I always have enough money to meet my needs, even if I don't or will not spend the money to indulge my desires.

I'm thankful for parents who taught me to live modestly and not extravagantly and to not waste money on unnecessary crap. (Black Friday? Oy Vay!)

I'm thankful that I always have a kitchen and refrigerator full of food....I often read about famines, food shortages, food price hikes in different parts of the world and am thankful that I have an abundance of food in my own home.

I'm thankful that even with the minor health problems I have, I'm in relatively good health and don't have any major health problems that are crippling, debilitating or make me home-bound.

I'm thankful that even though I was born Asian, and even though I don't look like a musclejock, that at least I'm not "chinky-looking" and that I speak English with a perfect North American accent and I don't have that god-awful ching-chong accent that a lot of immigrant Asians have.

Especially with being Gay, I'm thankful that I'm not fat (even though I'm not a musclejock).

I'm thankful that I live in a developed, industrialized, democratic country and that in spite of all its faults, it's still better in terms of quality of life than many other countries on this planet.

I'm thankful that I live in a place and a country where every four years a new president is elected or the incumbent president is re-elected and the country does not erupt in violence which is the sad fact in numerous countries, especially in Africa.

I'm thankful that I live in a place or a part of the world where the threat of war, political persecution, violence, famine, economic collapse, rampant inflation, political turmoil, etc., etc., etc. are minimal.

I'm thankful for my intelligence and the educational opportunities I've had and continue to have.

I'm thankful to the people who created the internet such that they have brought all the disparate peoples and societies of the world closer together such that maybe the better-offs can help the people who live with considerably less.

I'm thankful I'm not one of the millions of poor people who have no idea where their next meal will come from or when.

I'll stop here....I could go on and on......If you live in a developed, industrialized country, there's so much to be thankful for.

There's so much to be thankful for, but what comes to mind is a home that keeps me warm and dry. I have the most wonderful friends who I love dearly and are always in my thoughts. My table is full and I really want for nothing. Although my relationship with my immediate and extended family members can't be likened to the Waltons, I appreciate them as well.

I'm incredibly thankful for the full life I've lived so far. I've met the most amazing people, traveled to amazing places and been able to partake in experiences so great, it makes me humble.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't give thanks for all my RJ friends, current and future. This is such a wonderful community and although I'm relatively new, I've made great connections with you guys. Thanks for putting up with my posts and what feels like tons of messages. It's great to share laughs and smiles as well as be there for each other when times are hard.

While giving thanks, let us all remember those who are ill, who want for food and who do not have shelter. There but for the grace of god, go I.

I pray for my brothers. I pray for my sisters, I pray for my family, and I pray for G-D.

I'm thankful for all the good people and things that have come to me. I'm grateful for the brains and terrific education I've been lucky enough to receive. I'm grateful for past family members who helped me grow up and taught me so much. I've had my share of sadness and heartache, but through that I've got a bigger appreciation for all the good experiences I've enjoyed. I'm especially grateful for my s.o. He's brought huge joy and love into my life.

Trollileo saidThe amazing people I've met on here. Friends I've had the luxury of meeting in person. Others I've intended to meet. If it weren't for the people of this site I doubt I'd be the person I am today.

I am thankful to read stuff like this.

    Trolli is really special.

I am lucky to have crossed paths with Him.

(He doesn't realize that if it weren't for Him -- MANY Men on RJ wouldn't be who THEY are.)
