CFL_Oakland saidI'm coming right up on it, tim, though I get until July.

I'm not handling it as well as I always assumed I would. Living in a metropolitan region full of overachievers, it seems that by 30 I should run an innovative company, have a fabulous condo, and have chiseled abs...perhaps San Franciscans can relate icon_wink.gif

But lately I've started looking forward to it, ever since deciding to celebrate the year with some personally significant goal, like perhaps climbing my first big wall or something similar. It's made me a bit more excited about the whole thing...

I hear ya! My goal is to be an Olympic swimmer. Goals are fun.

timshel said...I read last night about men hitting their sexual peak at 18. So I can be relieved to know that we have all been going downhill for quite some time....

Erm... don't believe everything you read, sonny. Take it from one who knows. I'm as horny now as I was then. Well, almost. Seriously.

The funny thing is, even though the face you see in the mirror every morning ages, the person looking at it doesn't so much. Personality wise I'm really not that much "older" than I was in my 20s. I may be "rare" in that way. A lot of my friends *have* gotten old and settled in their ways. Me, not so much.

But, for me, life didn't really "begin" until my 30s and 40s. Best sex I ever had was in my 50s. It blows my mind but, apparently, some guys in their 20s find me attractive even today (I've found out since joining this illustrious forum). Shocked the shit out of me! icon_eek.gif

I saw a 54 year old for a little while and I have to say it was some of the best I've ever had icon_biggrin.gif

And I was being very tongue in cheek with the 18 yo comment

i'm looking forward to it. so much bull shit and mental anguish in my 20s. but i needed to build all that up and get through it so that i can enjoy myself in my 30s. age gracefully, don't take yourself too seriously, and you'll be all right

I was in denial about turning 30, until I was 32. Now, I love it. Although I don't know the future, I'm starting to see what the arc of my life might look like, rather than being just a dreamer. Turning thirty is lucky. It means the cake's ready to come out of the oven.

And btw, the forty year olds are probably thinking, What a baby.icon_rolleyes.gif

Is it just me or is it just the white guys who worry so much about turning 30? From what I have noticed my two past BFs who are younger than I and white have their feathers all kinds of ruffled.

I am trying to convince my ex of two years and friend to stay away from Botox and such.

Lol you ain't the only one.

Although you can tell some men will fare better as they age. Timshel will probably look the same until his forties and then there's a little grey but at that point it will be distinguished.

Seems like you are though, "face deteriorating" and such. Stay fit and live healthy, best way to age gracefully.

Poor younger generation... I see mass suicides at 40 in their future. Just saying.

    Like this guy:

    http://www.advocate.com/news/daily-news/2012/04/02/author-self-help-book-gay-men-commits-suicide

Couldn't handle being 40 so he offed himself.

Exactly what is wrong with gay American culture.

Fuck that. I want no part of it.

Well I turned 35 today, it the final bump in the mountain before I head down the hill.

I don't know what I'm going to change these 5 years. Want to continue to take fitness seriously, started in March this year. I personally found 34 was my freak out year. Know at 35 it down hill to 40.

I hope you meet all of your goals man.
    take care

    30's were great!!

Oddly my body and physical fitness has only improved. At 40, I have run marathon PR's that I would have never thought possible in my 20's. Yes, I can still haul ass next to those 20's guys that decide they want to secretly race me on the trails. ;)

However, milk your 30's as much as possible. In the gay world, this will be your last decade that others consider you viable and attractive. Have as much sex as possible and maximize that career.

You won't age that badly provided you take care of yourself, real changes start happening in the 40's.

Well as a young stallion myself I can not say much about being thirty as I have eight more years left, but I do look forward to comparing and contrasting my 20's problems to my 30's problems. As for the 30's being the last decade of being viable and attractive? I disagree with that. I find most older men (40's, 50's heck even 60's) to be absolutely amazing, suave, and downright sexy to ogle at. Just take a look at my hot list haha! I'm sure other 20 something guys are thinking the same way tooicon_wink.gif
