Medjai saidI find it interesting that so many people still define themselves by what they are, what that do, what they have, etc. None of that defines who a person is, yet that is how people approach the question.

I am a foundation to support others even though I am deeply flawed.

I am a loving partner despite my solitude.

I am a success although I constantly fail myself.

    I am unique. I am a dreamer. I am a terror.

I am myself, but I can not answer this question, not because I won't but because I don't know.

Just when I think I know, something changes, something is lost or something new appears changing my perception of who I thought I was. It's generally not a bad thing but more of a continuing refinement of what I hope to be in the end.

I doubt I will ever truly know who I am, perhaps those who know me will have a better answer but I strive to hope that when my days are done and my obit is published for all to see, they will construct a vision of who I was and smile with satisfaction that I have contributed positively to the world in which I am but a mere speck.

Smakkyoface saidThis is gonna sound all hippy but... I am you, I am the stars, I am the product of the same processes that has made everything else so far. I am energy and when my form is no more, every single atom in my body will still be.

At the core of it all, just like everything in the universe, I am conciousness that decided to form this being for this moment in time.

I'm a highly-driven, hard-working Puertorican man who's risked it all to realize his dream of being an independent filmmaker. A creative man of integrity, thoughtfulness and spirit. Fierce, passionate and loving. I'm a Budhist who strongly follows a code of righteousness and virtue. I'm a man who takes care of his mind, body and soul. Someday, I hope to be an accomplished maverick. For right now, I'm a work in progress, chiseling into my sculpture every day. When I'm gone in the long future, my energy will dissipate into the universe from where it came, but I hope my presence here makes a difference in a few people's lives.

@MikeW, not really sure I understood you completely. Are you telling that everyone and everything is just a manifestation of something we can't see and is beyond our comprehension?
This made me though of Plato. One of my friends was trying to explain to me existence. According to him or Plato, how do I know this is real and not just my imagination or a trick of my imagination, if this makes any sense.

@WaytoDawn, what makes you different though?? what makes you the person, the individual that you are?

Roguewave saidOMG this is way to existentialist for me this morning, gotta sit on the toilet and read Nietzsche for a while til I answer

I just thought your comment was funny. Important decisions are taken in the bathroom lol.

The question being asked is 'who are you?' The question people are answering is 'what are you.' It's just a notice.

You were a mistake. I'm sorry to have to tell you like this but it's true. I was drunk, my son had just had the holy living shit beaten out of him a few thousand years earlier, I lost 3k in the Super Bowl, it was a weird time for me.

    WaytoDawn saidI am human.

    Are you sure?

See, I suspect, like me, you're really from another planet. Actually realm might be the better term. That doesn't mean we're not "human" exactly, cuz we are, currently, but, erm, that ain't all there is to it, is there?

I may not be human. You see I suffer this strange condition in which I cannot remember the first three years of my existence, and it wasn't until I turned ten that I could start remembering clearly. Everything before that is just bits and pieces.

So it is entirely possible I am a creature from another world. icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif
