Now I KNOW she isn't shacking up with Argentine mistresses.

A.P."Brewer spokesman Matthew Benson said in a brief email to The Associated Press that Brewer was unavailable to participate in the general election canvass Monday morning because she was out of the state on official business...

"He later reiterated that during a brief phone interview during which he said he could not respond to several questions about Brewer's whereabouts."

Unavailable to certify election ballots? How conveeeeeeeenient.

Phoenix New Times reports the Secretary of State serves as governor in her absence.

    AH! THERE she is.

KTVK (Phoenix)Gov. Jan Brewer made an unannounced trip to military bases in Afghanistan this week as she visited with service members from Arizona and flew around the war-torn nation in helicopters with guns hanging out the windows.

Vanity FairBrewer is not, as we also reported, in Afghanistan for purposes of escaping any legal and/or physical recourse to her alleged face-punch of an Arizona-area newscaster. Rather, she “made the trip, which was veiled in secrecy, at the invitation of the U.S. Department of Defense. The agency periodically offers elected officials the chance to witness operations overseas and meet with soldiers. It made the offer to Brewer in October,” The Arizona Republic reports. Details like the journey’s “location” and “timeline” were kept under wraps for security reasons.

Brewer met with troops in Kabul and Kandahar, which she characterized as “the real deal, you know. We’re flying in helicopters, we have guns, guns hanging out the windows.” Isn’t it pretty common to have guns hanging out the windows in Arizona, too? Or just “hunting within city limits, concealed-carry licensing, carrying firearms in wildlife refuges, and firearm rights for those who have been rehabilitated from mental illness”?

Anyway, Brewer departs from Afghanistan today, back to a life of ballot-certification responsibilities, Jo(h)ns Kyl and McCain, and brawls with area journalist.

She probably got stopped for a traffic violation, didn't have proof that she was a United States citizen, and she's being held in an Arizona prison until they get around to deporting her to whatever country she came from.

Do we know for sure that she hasn't been checked into a mental institution? I think it could do her a world of good. icon_lol.gif
