Na that would be Melbourne and Sydney.

Sydney full of self obsessed pricks, Melbourne full of wankers.

Brisbane... Who gives a shit it's to warm and humid
Did you move to Sydney? Or just visiting?

Also, post jumbo pics of yourself at the beach, wearing something tight and skimpy. icon_biggrin.gif

Just back to see family, haven't been here in oh what 10 months since I moved to Brisbane

I've lived here for years I know the place well. It just isn't home and never felt fully like home

SpikeyAidan saidSydney is the multi-cultural hub of Australia. I do not what you mean though, Sydney is great to visit but I think I would struggle to live there. It's very competitive (in the gay world), it's all about having six pack abs, perfect muscular bodies, nobody is truly content there.

It really is a multicultural melting pot. It took so,e getting used to in Brisbane but its pretty diverse as well.

I wouldn't know much about it being competitive in the gay scene I did alright with hotties and don't have a six pack

Professionally it is hugely competitive here and very cut throat. I don't enjoy that at all.

    Brisbane blows!!!

    - It's expensive, a beer is 10.00. ( In a Irish Pub) Generally, expensive equates fun/lively; NYC, London, SF
    - It is boring - you cant get a meal after 8pm in downtown, unless you go to McDonald's during the week.
    - Its pretentious and shallow
    - Its racists. I have never been so offended by the racists slurs that come out of people's mouths

Brisbane is a VERY clean and pretty city, but scratch the surface.....

I love Australia. I love Sydney. I love Melbourne.....but Brisbane has to evolve.

The whole god damned country is racist you should hear the shit that comes outta people's mouths. Yes that includes Melbourne and Sydney.

The difference really comes down to people don't feel as comfortable saying it out loud in Sydney or Melbourne.

You need to go to west end places open until late, same in south bank.

Brisbane is cheaper then Melbourne and Sydney

But yes Brisbane does need to evolve but then so do all the large cities.

San Francisco and NYC are the most shallow and pretentious places in the US so that's a big call!. It's nowhere near as racist as middle America or if you venture outside your gay cocoon of San Fran or NYC!

    1. You probably didn't go to the right places. I can find beer for $5. Also, define beer - there's a sweeping variety available all at different prices, and quantities.

    2. I've had a meal starting at 9pm. Again, you probably didn't go to the right places. What is 'downtown' anyway ? We have the city centre, but most restaurants are in the inner quarters: West End, Fortitude Valley, Paddington, Petrie Terrace, Southbank, Woolloongabba, Bulimba, New Farm.

    3. That would be Melbourne (pretentious) and Sydney (shallow).

    4. Clearly not all of us are racist, but I'll concede there are arseholes around who speak without thinking.

Are you sure you didn't see the Brisbane River ? icon_razz.gif

Hopefully a return visit will prove to be a better experience !

    lilTanker's Master Plan:

Step 1: Post picture sure to make guys swoon.
Step 2: Mention current, future locations, and upcoming travel plans
Step 3: Wait for guys to flock to me.

I must say it's so simple and brilliant it just might work... (coincidentally, I booked a flight to the OZ a few minutes ago for a reason completely and utterly unrelated to your master plan)

But since I'll be there, drinks?

I've been to Sydney about six times, especially to the Oxford Street area. I've also been to Adelaide and Perth. In Tassy, I've been to Hobart, Swansea, Launceston, Strahn, Queenstown, and Zeehan. One if the pictures in my profile is of the sun setting over the Gordon River; I took it in January 2004 When I was in Tassy.

Sydney is too big and congested; there are nicer places in Oz.
