  When someone close to you said "gay people are disgusting" without knowing you are actually gay...

  I'm sorry, my sister is mean to me about being gay. My mom also is bitchy about it.
  
  It sucks. There really isn't THAT much of a difference between pussy and a dick to me, and I've been with both. Pleasure is pleasure... although I'm not bi.
  
  Don't let yourself feel like a victim though sweetie. If somebody is mean to you you just go on and be mean to them right back. I usually start outwardly mocking heteronormative standards in real life, and it's liberating. Stand up for yourself and make them see the error of their ways. I have done this recently with many heterosexual people and I smile with delight at the guilt on their face.

  This has happened to me before with a group of people. The guy thought I was cool and everyone else knew I was gay because I was hanging out with them all day. He then started telling a story and then said, "gay people are weird". I then said, "listen man I'm gay, Jason is gay too (he was the guy sitting next to me), and he's gay as well" (pointing to the guy across from me). He then apologized. I mean I really hated to have to put him on the spot but sometimes you just have to.
  
  If I was alone with him I would have told him the same thing because I'm confident and I know who I am.

  Exactly if you act butthurt about it, it will just make them think that they are right. You have to fight back.
  
  when somebody hurtfully makes fun of gays now I mock straight people right back. I don't take offense or give some politically correct gay rights speech. And trust me it actually works. It makes most people feel guilty and realize what they are doing is harmful.

  Lol, it's nice to read these comments guys thanx. To clear things up, I am fine with my sexuality, my friends know I'm gay it's only my family that's been kept in the dark...
