My favorite moment is to visit different kinds of booths after the parade, and getting some souvenirs.

My favourite gay pride moment was my first pride ever and it took place in Montreal. I was there for the world's first outgames in 2006 competing in volleyball. It blew me away. The men, the parties, the energy, the sports. It was awesome. =)

I think Pizza Rustica is so over rated. I would only go there if I'm hung over or drunk....

Get their "build your own" salad. It's like 7 bucks and you can choose what you want on it.

Just watch out for birds overhead. One shit on my salad once (Lincoln Rd). icon_lol.gif

My favorite Gay Pride moment has to be when me and my other half attended Chicago Pride 2006. Not only was George Takei the Grand Marshall it was our very first pride we both ever attended. I believe that was the year he came out. When I saw him I did the sign for, Live Long and Prosper.

He actually saw me and signaled me back. How awesome is that?

This March will mark our 10th anniversary.

It was NYC Pride 2005. I had never been to NYC Pride but had always heard
how much fun it was. My friend Ken and I booked a flight and got a hotel room for the weekend. That Friday evening we went to some parties hosted by some of the locals. We met so many nice people from all over the country. We went out dancing Saturday night and into the morning hours. We left the club about
10 am Sunday morning. It was a beautiful bright sunny day and thankfully we had the presence of mind to have our sunglasses with us. We stopped and had brunch at an outdoor restaurant before heading back to the hotel.
We were strolling down the streets of Manhattan, hand in hand, just enjoying the morning, when a young boy about 15 approached us with his girl companion. They were high school students from Iowa on a class outing and were very excited about being in NYC during Pride weekend.
Since Ken and I were walking and holding hands, they presumed we were gay,
so asked us what street they should be standing on to see the Pride parade.
We gave them the information they needed, and wished them a "Happy Pride"
and continued on our way, feeling good about having done our good deed for the day.

It was my first time at a pride festival in MN and definitely not my last. I had so much fun seeing the community and support for the first time! I remember visiting the South Asian Pride group and meeting all of my cousins queer friends. The members were nice and seemed happy to meet me.

This was a great opportunity for me to branch out and get out of my comfort zone. Gay life is getting more interesting as I grow older and open up more to people about who I am and what I'm all about!

    Cheers,

    Eric.

Being from a smaller town in Wisconsin, never really had the opportunity to go to a pride parade, but they look like a lot of fun!! However we do have a gay bar in town, a small run down hole in the wall kind of bar, but so comfortable and fun. The best kind of bar in my books, however I'm sure clubs are fun too!

I live in the heart of Gay Pride, but still never go to the parades. I'm usually too busy doing the aerial photography. icon_lol.gif

Can't honestly say I've had a favourite moment. Went to one gay pride in my city and it was a complete failure of a event, which is why I think going to Miami's would be able to actually create a memorable moment for me, to be able to see gay pride done right!

My favorite gay pride moment was finding the gay pride parade in Paris by accident. I took my shirt off while watching, attracted the attention of a boy on a float and eventually ended up with him on the float in the parade. This lead to dancing which lead to . . . well you get the idea.

My best pride event was probably that of Amsterdam Pride in 2009. My friends invited a bunch of guys from all over the world to come celebrate with them on their little boat. We all wore our national flags and watched the parade of boats go by and then joined thousands of other boats, straight and gay, to follow the parade on the canals. The feeling of open mindedness and inclusion, the thousands of spectators, the happiness on the boats and the sunset make one of my favorite memories of all the gay prides I have taken part in so far.

My favorite gay pride moment was the first day of my first Pride in Minneapolis in 2005. I had been to many pride celebrations - Kansas City, San Francisco, Boston, New Orleans, St. Louis... all were very fun and quite naughty! Well, when I walked through the park on the first day of Minneapolis Gay Pride in 2005 I was amazed to see so many families, children, churches, local politicians, etc. It was like homosexuality had, for the first time I had seen, been "normalized", but in a good way. It was like being gay was just another way to be rather than a separate lifestyle or oddity... like I'd felt in so many other (what I thought were) cosmopolitan cities. Well, I'm still in Minneapolis and I feel more a part of the communities around me, being an openly gay man, than I ever have. Love! Hope to experience a Miami Pride.... and may e a little naughtiness!

My first (and only) gay Pride was 2 years ago in Vancouver. The summer had ben shitty (rainy, cloudy and winter-cold temperatures) for the whole months of may, june and july. The Pride was on the 1st week-end of August, and that one week-end, it was soooo beautiful and warm outside. The Pride marked the beginning of a real/decent summer in the city... And also marked the beginning of a nightmare for my liver : loooots of drinks, but tons of fun !

    It was amazing ! icon_biggrin.gif

Hmmm...okay, my favorite, well, most memorable gay pride moment was in Madison, May, 1989...we trained as Peace Keepers...because this was the first gay pride march/parade in Madison, oddly enough. We were trained in peaceful resistance...and how to defuse tense situations.

We gathered, hundreds strong...in FREEZING temperatures...our drag queens nipples were erect and saluting! We assumed our position, along State St...passing some very obedient skinheads along the way.

Down Langdon St., Frat./Sorority Row...we anticipated jeering, but there was none. Instead we saw at least one, may be two, maybe more...boys dancing on the balconies, in their Speedos (tm) dancing along with us...and clearing playing to the crowd!

We've come so far...today, where being gay is not unusual, or odd...in fact, even celebrated...I still keep my red, Peace Keeper arm band with Pride!!
    mark.
